The picture on the left was taken on the day after I completed the Baja half IronMan in 2006. At one time, I follow the high carbohydrate low-fat diet recommended to endurance athletes. I bought into the lie that if I just trained hard enough, ate a low fat diet, and cut my calories, I would end up thin, fit, and fast. I was able to cross the finish line, but I wasn’t any of the things I wanted to be. I wasn’t thin, I wasn’t fast, and I wasn’t healthy. I was on $80 a month of asthma and allergy medication. I felt bloated and sick all the time and I was tired. Fast forward a couple years, I found out about the Paleo diet. I started to feel better. Then I went low carb Paleo. Then I found a ketogenic diet. I progressively got healthier. The picture on the right is me after the 90 day carnivore study. I’m on zero medications, I ditched the allergy asthma meds years ago. I am healthier now than I was in my teens, 20’s, and 30’s. #noasthma #ketoadaptedathlete #fatadaptedathlete #yes2meat #carnivore #paleodiet #lchf #ketoendurance #nsng #ironman #ironman70.3 #asthmasucks (at Peoria, Arizona) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0GoocvAJB0/?igshid=7v43j0h1q3m5
