Kettle Reopens at Shangri-La Mall With All Day Breakfast Promo
Kettle, the home of the city's most famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken, has recently reopened at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall after closing for a few months. While they have another branch in Greenhills Mall to serve their loyal patrons, the original branch at Shangri-La remains to be a popular destination for friends and families alike.
Kettle is the home for delicious American Southern Comfort Food. Their pioneering branch at the 5th floor of the East Wing reopened last January 9, 2025 after closing for four months for renovations. As a treat to their customers, they are offering an All Day Breakfast promotion which comes with free coffee and beignet on all their breakfast meals.
The Hungry Kat was invited to visit Kettle's newly reopened restaurant a few weeks ago and I was happy to have lunch with my long-time The KTG blogger friends. Chef Chiloy Santos and Jem Zafra graciously hosted our little get together inside their charming venue.
We started with some of their signature Warm Brioche Rolls. These warm and fluffy brioche rolls are a good way to start the day. Choose from Honey Butter (P205), Cheddar Garlic Butter (P285), or Cinnamon Sugar (P215)- each roll baked fresh everyday.
I really liked the Cheddar Garlic Butter brioche rolls which are probably the best rolls I have ever eaten. The bread was so soft and the flavors were just outstanding. It took a lot of effort to stop myself from getting more.
Kettle offers a variety of refreshing beverages to accompany breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Choose from their lineup of coffee, shakes, smoothies, sodas, beers and wines that can suit your needs any time of the day.
I loved the Super Green Smoothies (P365) which comes with a very healthy combination of banana, pineapple, spinach, yogurt, oat milk, and chia seeds. Most healthy beverages usually don't taste as good, but I liked this one even more than other fruit shakes.
Coffee lovers can choose from the espresso, americano, cappuccino, or this pretty Iced S'Mores Latte (P285) which comes with marshmallows and a beignet on the side.
For our appetizers, we ordered the Pork and Potato Strips (P625-sharing portion) for the table. These have a combination of crunchy potato strips, lechon bacon, parmesan cheese, white truffle oil and roasted red pepper aioli.
The Kettle Club Sandwich (P515) is also good to share. These giant loaves come with an egg salad spread, buttermilk fried chicken, bacon bits, cheddar, chipotle mayo, and potato strips.
For their reopening promotion, Kettle is letting its loyal guests enjoy their All-Day Breakfast Meal served with FREE Coffee and Beignet. This promo is available from February 5 to April 30, 2025. You also have the option to level up your cup by upgrading your brew to a cappuccino or latte. Start your day with the Longganisa (P375) all-day breakfast meal that comes with organic eggs served your way, garlic rice, and pickled veggies.
Other breakfast options include the Angus Tapa (P595) which has marinated US Beef strips while the Bacon Steak (P395) comes with a thick and juicy slab of mapled bacon to go with your garlic rice and eggs.
There's also the Marinated Bangus (P445), an all day breakfast seafood option with its marinated baby milk fish served with your choice of eggs and pickled veggies.
Aside from these Filipino breakfast favorites, Kettle also serves some continental breakfast options like the Three Cheese Omelette (P335). This is prepared with organic eggs, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, and served with hash brown, brioche toast, and mixed greens.
Of course, Kettle is popular all over the metro for their fried chicken, so the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sampler (P1,255) is a great option any time of the day. This huge plate comes with three pieces of buttermilk fried chicken in original, spicy, and nori flavors. It also comes with corn bread, coleslaw, cajun honey, and gravy.
You can also go for the Nori Fried Chicken with Matcha Waffle (P525), a must try with its Nori buttermilk fried chicken strips served on top of a homemade matcha waffle with miso butter and maple syrup. It's a combination that really describes the ultimate comfort food.
Kettle also serves main dishes for those quick lunch breaks or hearty family dinners. The Angus Roast Beef Hash (P655) comes with tender Angus roast beef, potato hash, house gravy, and steamed or garlic rice.
I highly recommend the Miso Glazed Salmon (P695) for seafood and pasta lovers like me. The salmon fillet is presented on top of green tea soba noodles and doused with roasted sesame dressing and mango cucumber salsa.
For meatlovers, the U.S Angus Short Ribs (P625) is a great choice. These barbecue short ribs are cooked in a sweet barbecue sauce and are served with coleslaw and garlic mashed potato.
But those with a big appetite like me should go for the Steak Frites (P1,345) with its huge serving of U.S. Beef flank topped with steak butter sauce and served with gravy and shoestring fries. This was actually my order but don't worry, I shared it with the group.
If you have a sweet tooth, you can have these options for your dessert or merienda. Start with the decadent French Toast (P360) topped with melted butter and whipped cream.
Another option is the Blueberries and Cream Pancake (P395). This gorgeous plate comes with blueberries, whipped cream, whipped butter, and maple syrup.
Kettle also offers several colorful cakes to choose from like the Taro Cheesecake (P195), Mango Biscoff Cake (P195), or other flavors including Ube Brulée Cake, Carrot Walnut Cake, Banana Cream Pie, Blueberry Cheesecake, Mango Biscoff, and more.
The Pastry section is just as exciting. Go for their Cinnamon Roll (P125), Apple Cinnamon Roll (P145), Ube Cinnamon Roll, or any of their giant ensaymadas.
