Another treat for us to present to everyone is this super ill, thought-provoking visual from Gentrified Minds alum and NJ heavyweight spitter Ben Black. In anticipation for his much awaited forthcoming solo work, as well as the occasionally hinted at duo project Garbage Pale Kids featuring longtime collaborator Kev Bars, here is a mixed media project of sorts titled “Bowling (U Fucked Up)” where Ben joins forces with illustrator Stephanie Herrera for a stop motion video he captured. Kev is also featured on the hook and in some assorted adlibs throughout the track which is delivered over an instrumental recently released by Lil Ugly Mane. Hopefully there’ll be more impressive work from these folks soon!

This past weekend Williamsburg artist Kev Bars released a melancholic, personal song about the college experience over an early instrumental from fellow Williamsburg representer A NxBxDY. The sparse, moody instrumentation creates the sort of forlorn atmosphere for the very dense, yet bleak lyricism that Bars lays down. Truly an introspective and gloomy work from these Brooklyn natives who surely have more interesting content  in store in the near future.

Elusive Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY born and based instrumental artist A NxBxDY has released some new work, this time collaborating with fellow 11211 representative Kev Bars for a very spooky, dark track called “Bitch’s Bru” to ring in Halloween. The song marks a distinct expansion in style in her work, where she employs a more goth trap approach while also bearing sonic similarities to some more mainstream contemporary works. Keep an eye out for this mysterious bundle of potential - her work only continues to amaze!

On our first observance of Flashback Friday, we have an effort from North Bergen, New Jersey phenom Ben Black featuring Kev Bars (of Brooklyn, NY) & Takt (also of NJ) titled "Gripes". This video was released last September and has gained moderate traction since; check out this hyperlyrical and subversive piece rapped over a beat made famous by Zavala, and keep an eye out for more from Ben Black including his forthcoming solo project, Cycles.
