one thing i LOVE about Hollow Knight vs Silksong is that the Knight can splishy splash in water with their nail, but Hornet won't let you do that. she's too mature for it. you can splash on a pogo, and that is It.
also, switching back to Hollow Knight after playing Silksong really emphasizes the fact that the vessels are voiceless. i didn't really get the full impact of it until i got to experience a fully voiced protagonist in Silksong, then switched back to just... silence. for some reason, i was really, really expecting them to make some sort of noise when they they died, and not hearing anything got me
i do love that Silksong confirmed that the sound fading for a moment when Ghost gets hurt is specific to them, as well. i wonder if it means they're specifically stopping sound from occurring, or it's just their perception fading out bc of pain? based on the Pure Vessel fight and the lack of sound fading there i'm leaning towards the second one, but the first one is a cool idea
