Bang Chan (WC: 319) Forehead Kisses
It was late, it always was when it came to Chan. Late nights turned into early mornings that he spent crowded in his studio, tapping his foot to the beat of whatever song he was working on. He was so deep into his rhythm that he didn’t even notice the door to his studio opening and someone stepping in.
“You’re still here, I see.” Your voice slipped through the edges of his headphones and he glanced back with a tired smile. His eyes were bright, but the bags under them could have reached his cheeks. “Baby…”
“I know, I know.” He sighed, tugging his headphones off and running a hand through his hair. He leaned back in his chair. “I just wanted to finish this one beat. It's getting there, but it's not… there, yet, y’know?”
You chuckled softly, walking over to him and pressing your arms around his neck, resting your chin on his head. He leaned into your grip with a low hum. “Yeah, but if it's not there now, it’s not going to get there today.”
“No, I feel like I’m on the brink of it and I can get it done!”
“Which means, you can get it done tomorrow.” You murmured. Your lips brushed against his temple, kissing his forehead sweetly. “You need sleep. If you try to work on it now, when you’re actually lucid, you’re going to think you were drunk when you made the beat.”
He laughed in that way he always laughed, big and bright. Even when tired, he always sounded so… him. It was refreshing. “I suppose. Is this your way of telling me you’re ready for bed?”
“I’ve been ready for bed for five hours.”
He laughed again, patting your arm, “Right. Let me lock up and we can go back to the dorm.” You nodded, kissing his forehead once more before releasing him to lock up his studio.
Lee Know (WC: 358) Kitten Kisses
You were beyond frustrated. The day had absolutely sucked and you wanted nothing more than to go home and curl into bed, maybe lay with the cats your boyfriend had. All you wanted was peace, comfort. But then, you entered the dorms and everyone was there. You loved your boyfriend’s members, but they were so loud.
You opened the door and was immediately met with laughter from Minho’s roommate, Jisung. You assumed it was just the two of them, like usual, but then you heard Hyunjin’s laugh. Then Seungmin. Then the cacophony of laughter from every other member of Stray kids. You sighed, rest was not looking feasible. You slipped off your shoes and trailed into the living room, smiling weakly at the group, waving tiredly.
“Hey!” Chan noticed your first, grinning up at you. His greeting caused everyone to look up and they all echoed his greetings. You hummed softly, waving before trailing away from them and into your boyfriend’s bedroom. His cats were lazing around the room and, to your dismay, none of them trailed over to you when you laid back on the bed.
Several minutes passed before the door opened again. Minho approached slowly and sat on the edge of the bed beside you. “Long day?” He asked, looking down at you.
“Mhm. Overwhelming.” You muttered. He nodded, humming softly.
“Want me to send them home? I can.” Minho offered, hand pressing into your hair and petting you lightly. “I mean, I can’t send Jisung home, but I can tell him to shut up.”
You laughed softly, “No, it's fine.” You mumbled. “I’m just gonna go to sleep.”
He nodded gently, “Okay. No pressure. Have you eaten?” A shake of your head. He snickered, “Okay. I’ll let you sleep, but when I make dinner, I’ll wake you up, deal?”
“Deal.” You confirmed, glancing up at him. He offered a smile, leaning down and pressing a feather-light kiss to your nose. The soft, sweet gesture made butterflies tumble in your chest. You smiled. He cupped your face and thumbed at your cheek with a smile before getting up and heading back to the living room.
Changbin (WC: 390) Kisses between sets
The idea was yours. You had bounded over to him as he was about to leave for the gym, dressed in your own workout clothes. Your hand wrapped around his thick bicep and asked him sweetly if you could go with. He said yes, of course he did- he was never able to deny you anything.
The gym was empty- it usually was when he arrived, as it was typically early in the morning. Perfect. Your plan could go on as planned.
He made his way to the mats to start his warmup and you skipped over beside him, doing your own little workout. It was not nearly as extensive as his, but it worked. His warmup was great to look at too.
Then, he stood up and headed to a machine and you frowned.
“You’re not going to do pushups?” You found yourself asking.
He glanced back at you as he moved to the legpress. “It's leg day. I do pushups on chest day.” He said casually, climbing onto the machine. He noticed your frown, head tilting slightly, “Why?”
You huffed, sitting up on the mats, “Welllllll, I was hoping I could try something!” You supplied. “I saw it on TikTok. You do pushups, and I lay under you. Every time you dip down, I give you a kiss!”
He stared at you for a long moment, cheeks flushing. Then, he stood back up and moved over to you. “Well, I don’t know about pushups, but we can try crunches?” He offered, sitting back on the mat, offering you a grin.
You cheered excitedly, moving over to him and kneeling on his feet to keep him steady. He laid back and positioned his arms behind his head. “Ready?” He asked. You nodded- of course you were ready.
He hoisted himself up and your lips met his when he reached the top. He smiled, pausing for a minute to kiss back before he fell back with a heavy breath. “Shit.” He muttered, “Do I have to do the crunches? I can just kiss you.”
“Nope! You have to do the crunches.” You said with a cheeky grin. “Hey, it benefits both of us!”
“Not really, if I’m working on my legs today.” He pointed out, but he hoisted himself up again and let you press your lips to his again.
Hyunjin (WC: 319) Neck Kiss
The throes of intimacy had settled into a soft, loving moment. Your head laid against Hyunjin’s chest and his hand brushed through your hair, humming softly. Your legs were completely intertwined and your arms wrapped around his waist. It was peaceful, sweet, loving. The evening was calm.
“Hey, baby?” You murmured softly, nuzzling gently into his chest. His humming stopped, tilting his head down to peer at you. “If I was a dog, would you still let me sleep in the bed?”
Quiet. No response. Then, he laughed. You looked up at him, seeing his face break into a grin, “What are you talking about?” He muttered, pulling you closer to him. “That’s the first thing you say to me after we sleep together?”
You laughed with him. “It's a real question! I was just thinking about it.”
“Why were you just thinking about it?” He teased, squeezing you gently. “You’re so weird, muse.”
“That’s not an answer.” You sang teasingly.
He chuckled, “Hmmm. I would. I would let you sleep on the bed. I let Kkami sleep on the bed when you aren’t here. He cuddles me in your absence.”
You laughed, “That’s fair. Kkami cuddles are the best cuddles.” He adjusted, pulling you up and burying his head in the crook of your neck. “Mm, what are you doing now?”
“Just getting in my cuddles before I have to replace you with my dog.” He said dramatically, sighing out as he pressed kisses into the skin on your neck.
You laughed quietly, “Acting like I don’t sleep over at your place almost every day.”
“Mm, it could be every day if you just moved in with me.” He offered, pressing a hard kiss to your pulse point.
You hummed softly, carding your hand through his hair, “Mhm? Is that an offer?”
His teeth brushed against your skin, “Maybe. Would you say yes?”
Your eyes slipped shut, “Maybe.”
Han Jisung (WC: 409) Spider-man Kiss
Jisung was already laying upside down in his bed when you walked into his dorm. You eyed him carefully, brows furrowed. “What are you doing?”
He let out a dramatic huff, eyes closed and brows furrowing heavily. “I’m thinking.”
“...upside down?”
“Yes. My creative juices need to flow, angel. You know this.” You scoffed, plopping into the chair at his desk and leaning against the table, eyes watching him. “I’m stuck! I’ve made it so far, but I’m so lost.” He complained.
“Lost with what?” You asked him, glancing around. You took notice of the notebook hanging upside down on his chest. You reached over and plucked it off, scanning the page. It was filled with words and scribbled out words, and little doodles in the corners. “Is this a song?”
He groaned again, opening his eyes finally. “Yeah. I’m stuck though. It flows well but I don’t know what to do next, yanno? I don’t have that spark. No motivation or anything!”
You hummed, skimming through the book and thinking. “Anything I can do to help?”
He huffed, “Probably not. My brain is just useless!”
You chuckled softly, sinking to your knees in front of him. “Baby, come on, your brain is not useless. When’s the last time you ate something? Or showered? Or left this room?”
His cheeks rosied and he looked away nervously. “Well, uh, we did have lunch-”
“Two days ago. Continue.”
“-and I went to vocal practice yesterday.”
You rolled your eyes, “Okay, so you did leave the room. Let’s get you some food. You might think better. Or shower. Or both? I’ll order some food and you can get in the shower while it's on the way.” You patted his cheek and he closed his eyes again, sighing dramatically but nodding. You went to stand but he grabbed your hand and pouted. “Yes, my love?”
“Kiss me.” He demanded. “I’m sure that’ll jog my mind.” You laughed softly, but bent down and pressed your lips to his. He was upside down and it was admittedly weird, but his lips turned up into a smile. You tugged away and he sighed dreamily, “Ahh, I get why Spiderman liked that. We need to do that more.” You laughed at his comment, standing up and helping him back up properly.
“Food, shower, then we can do it again, deal?”
Jisung nodded quickly, grinning. At least there was something to bring him out of his funk now.
Felix (WC: 335) Eskimo kiss
The morning sun had just started rising over the horizon when you were waking up. You didn’t want to get up. You yawned, stretching softly and peering to the side. A small smile lit up your face when you saw Felix still laying beside you.
He looked almost angelic in the sunlight. Your shadow blocked out the sun when you sat up, and you admired him gently. The way his freckles brushed over his cheeks, the way his skin was so smooth and soft. He was so beautiful. He always was, and you always told him that. He always laughed you off, and with his face calm, you could admire the faint laugh lines near his mouth.
Your hand moved without much thought, brushing over his cheek softly. His eyes scrunched, but he didn’t wake up and you took the chance to lean forward and brush your nose against his gently. A kiss would have woken him, this would not have.
You leaned back from him and smiled gently again, eyes completely filled with infatuation as you admired him. He was always so calm, so pretty.
A soft, but deep, groan hit your ears and you chuckled softly as his eyes blinked open. Your head still blocked the sun, so his eyes adjusted just a smudge quicker. He hummed, adjusting his arm so it sat behind his head as he looked up at you.
“Morning.” He mumbled. A shiver ran through you at his morning voice. It always did, no matter how many times you heard it. “What time is it?”
“Does it matter?” You responded gently. You leaned forward again. He tilted his head to meet your lips, but instead you brushed your nose against his again. He laughed softly.
“What are you doing, silly thing?”
You hummed with a grin, “Eskimo kiss. It's cute, isn’t it?” He responded with a low noise, tilting his head so he was able to rub his nose against yours in return, an adoring smile on his face.
Seungmin (WC: 541) A peck that turns into more
You never thought you would see him like this. After years and years of being Seungmin’s friend, you never imagined you would ever get the chance to see him perform in person. But he was in your hometown, at the same time that you were visiting home, so it felt like fate. It didn’t hurt that he bought your ticket and got you a backstage pass.
You felt special, light on your feet as you watched at the barricade, eyes sparkling as you jumped to the songs, yelling lyrics loudly. Seungmin would glance over and catch your eye, or even just catch your movements, and a grin would tug at his lips. His members nudged him and pointed in your direction (subtly, of course, but you noticed because you were always watching Seungmin). You didn’t notice the way his ears burned whenever they would mutter something to him off-mic.
When the concert was over, you were escorted back stage and you quickly found him. A bright grin was on your face as you jumped into his arms. “Min!” You cheered, “Oh my god, you were great! Amazing! That was so cool!” Adrenaline fluttered through you as you laughed. He returned your excitement, laughing as he stumbled back from your weight.
“Yeah?” He teased, breathless from his stage performance. His members walked by him, chuckling and patting his back before they were all gone. “You really liked it?”
“Liked it? I loved it! How am I supposed to act knowing everyone sees you performing like that?!” You laughed brightly. “My best friend, on stage!”
He faltered just slightly at the title before laughing gently again, “Yeah?” He murmured, quieter than last time. He leaned against the wall and you admired the way a bead of sweat dripped down his forehead. “What was your favorite part?”
Your cheeks burned, not wanting to admit that your favorite part was his part of Chk Chk Boom- if only because the choreo was addicting and he looked so good. Frankly, though, you loved every part of the concert because your eyes were locked on him the entire time. “Oh, well, you performed my favorite song.” You pointed out with a hum, smiling. “Cinema was beautiful. Like always.”
His ears burned red again and he nodded thoughtfully. It was quiet for a long moment before he sighed. He said your name, almost slowly. You glanced up at him and paused- he was a lot closer than you thought he was. Regardless, you offered him a smile. He hesitated before sighing softly. “Fuck it.” He muttered. He dipped forward, pressing a kiss to your lips.
Before you even processed it, though, he jolted back, cheeks burning red. He didn’t say anything. You didn’t say anything. You stared at him with wide eyes.
Then, you jolted forward, crashing your lips against his and wrapping your arms around his neck, tugging him close. He let out a noise of surprise, but he pressed his hands to your waist, tugging you into him as he returned the kiss ten-fold. Time passed, or did it? You felt weightless, completely lost in him, in the realization that this was really happening. After all these years, you were finally, finally kissing your best friend.
Jeongin (WC: 521) Stairwell kiss
Jeongin has always been taller than you. It annoyed you at times, when you tried to grab things from high up and he just came behind you and grabbed it with that stupid grin on his face, or when you desperately wanted to kiss him, but he was too tall to just kiss and you didn’t want to say it out loud.
Right now, it was the second option.
You and Jeongin had been at the mall all day, window shopping more than actual shopping. Only a few bags adorned your arms as you made your way back to the dorms. An irritated look had been on your face, seeping through your smile, for the last few hours. He hadn’t questioned it any more than a subtle concerned look every couple of stores, but you knew he had noticed it. The source of your irritation was simple. You really wanted affection. It was childish, sure, but you wanted it and you couldn’t just say it. It felt like a humiliation ritual if you just said outright (even if he would never treat it that way and would always just grin and give in. It was a matter of principle).
You made it back to the dorms and he went towards the elevator, pressing the button to call it. Your eyes scanned the lobby before landing on the stairway in the corner of the room, often overlooked by the JYPE members. An idea popped into your head and your eyes sparkled with mischief, a grin twisting on your face. You reached over, tapping his arm. He glanced over at you with a curious expression.
“Lets take the stairs.” You suggested, gesturing to the door. His brows furrowed and he glanced towards the staircase. Then he looked back at you.
“The stairs?” He questioned as the elevator dinged, door opening. “Why?”
You huffed, “Why not? Exercise, y’know?” He chuckled, shaking his head, but when you started towards the elevator, he shrugged and followed after you. You hopped up the steps until you were two steps up before stopping and turning abruptly. He paused on the ground floor, looking at you in pure confusion.
“What? Is something wrong?” He asked, curiously. His head tilted slightly, brows furrowed.
You grinned at him. Then, you leaned over, cupped his face and kissed him. He let out a little noise of surprise, laughing into the kiss before returning it. When you pulled back, a satisfied smile gracing your lips, he laughed again. “What was that for?”
“I just wanted to.” You said, grinning.
Jeongin laughed, stepping up to your step and wrapping an arm around your shoulders, “Is this why you’ve been moody all day? You wanted a kiss?”
“I wanted affection.” You corrected. “I just happened to take a kiss.” he rolled his eyes, grinning as he pressed a kiss to your head. “You’re just too tall for me!”
“You’re ridiculous, jagi. You could have just asked me.”
You huffed, “Sometimes I just want to be spontaneous, sue me.”
He hummed, tugging you into his side as you both continued up the stairs towards his dorm.

The First Year
There was a crack of thunder during the night. Loud and obtrusive. You recognized the noise. You always did. The sound made you jolt awake from your bed. You climbed out of your handmade bed in a flash, grasping for the robe you left on the coat rack near your door, throwing the door open and hurrying to the beach. Just as you expected, there was someone laying on the beach.
His hair was tousled and wet. He was blonde. You hadn’t seen a blonde one in centuries. His skin was dusted with sand as he slept. You kneeled beside him, resisting the urge to touch his robe as he laid peacefully. You allowed yourself to hope- to pray that he would be the one who would stay with you.
His mouth moved gently as he rested. Your brows furrowed and you leaned over him, listening closely to what he was mumbling.
“Jiung…” He was murmuring softly, “....’ung.”
You frowned gently, lifting your head back again. Jiung. Was that a person? Someone he had waiting for him? Did the gods send another person who would never fall in love with you? Ignoring the tug at your heart, you gently moved his head into your lap, carding your fingers through his hair.
The sun was slowly peeking over the horizon when he slowly blinked his eyes. You leaned over him, blocking the sun from hitting his eyes. You offered a smile to him, your eyes sparkling as you grinned.
“Morning sleepyhead. You’ve been resting for a while. I swore that you were dead when you washed up on my isle.” You saw him staring at you with an odd expression. He pushed away, looking around the island. Your island. “Did you know you talk in your sleep? Tell me, though, who’s Jiung?”
Distractedly, looking for something, probably a boat or way off, he responded, “He’s my husband.”
Your eyes met his for a moment. You stared at him carefully, analyzing his face and eyes. They were brown. They looked… so pretty in the sunlight. His face was riddled with stubble and sand. You swallowed thickly, caught in admiring his appearance when he stumbled to his feet. “Anyway, this island has everything we could ever need.” You said with a grin. “Food, water, animals. There’s anything you could ever need or want. Just you and me, my dear. You can be my love for life.”
He stumbled back with wide eyes, “What-? I- no, no. I don’t-” You stared at him with a grin for a moment before your eyes noticed blood dripping from a wound on his arm. You jumped up, grabbing his hand.
“Wait, you’re injured! Come on, let’s go get that cleaned up.” You pulled him through the island, leading him through marble pillars until you pulled him into your bedroom, sitting him on the bed. You rustled through your drawers while he looked around in surprise. You found the bandages you were looking for and hurried over to where he was seated, lifting his arm gently. You hummed softly as you wrapped his arm, giving him sweet smiles as you did. As soon as you were finished, you brought the bandaged arm up and pressed a gentle kiss to his arm. He pulled away quickly, blinking at you.
He stood up from the bed, backing away and shaking his head, “Oh, no, I, uh, I seem to be a bit lost? See, I was looking for Ithaca? And this… doesn’t seem like the place.”
You hummed, “No. Not Ithaca. But, you have me here.” You smiled, standing from the bed and swaying your hips as you walked towards him. You grabbed his hand, tugging him towards the bed, “Soon, into bed we’ll climb and spend our time.”
He yanked his hand out of yours, shaking his head, “Ah, no- no. I’m not your man.” He turned and left the room in a hurry, leaving you behind. You huffed, sitting on your bed. So he needed some time to get used to the idea of you. You could give him that! After all, surely, he’d be here for the rest of his life. You couldn’t- and wouldn’t- force him into anything, so you had to wait for him to warm up to you.
And you knew he would.
Eventually, you walked out of the house and walked the island, looking for the man you would spend his life with. You found him at one point, tugging on a tree branch to get it to fall. You hummed, walking up behind him.
“Are you alright?”
He jumped, spinning around, his sword that he washed up with in his hand. “Who are you and where am I? Where is my boat?”
“You’re on my island, silly.” You huffed softly, “You washed up here. There are no boats here.”
“Your island?”
You nodded with a grin, walking closer and leaning close to his face, “Yes. Which means, you are stuck with me! And that’s a good thing! I’m what you want here- I’m what you need here! Just you and me, my love in paradise.” You closed your eyes leaning forward. You stumbled forward when he moved out of the way, staring at you with confusion. “Now ‘til the end of time, you’re mine.” You said dreamily, opening your eyes and staring at him with your sweet smile.
He shook his head again, “No. Absolutely not.” He pointed his sword in your direction again and your smile wavered. “You know, I could kill you where you stand. I’m not your pet. I’m a married man.”
You huffed, raising your hands in mock defense, “Last I checked, you can’t kill a god.” You smirked at the look of surprise that dawned his face. He slowly looked more and more horrified at the idea of staying on this island.
“God?”He repeated.
“Yes. You’re so adorable when you make that face.” You walked up to him, pressing a finger against his sword to push it down. Then you trailed your hand over his shoulder, grinning at him, “I’m the god, Y/N. But, don’t be afraid. I’m not going to hurt you. We’ve got all you could want here, all you could need! We’re in paradise! My island stays the same and no one can come and bother us. No one can leave either, if you were thinking about it. My island stays how it is.”
He swallowed thickly, moving to the side. “I don’t belong here.”
“No? But you are here, are you not? Surely that means you were meant to be here. With me.”
“No.” He said, shaking his head again, “I won’t stay here until the end of time. Paradise to the end of time? No way. I won’t stay here.”
He walked away from me, towards the house. You followed him, peeking over his shoulder to see his expression every few minutes. “You’re mine!” You sang with a smile, humming joyfully, “You’re here to stay with me until the end of time. Isn’t that just great?”
He shook his head with a serious expression, “How do I leave?”
You blinked at him softly, tilting your head. “What do you mean? You don’t.”
The Second Year
Your eyes trailed across the expanse of the beach, searching for the man that had stolen your heart away. When you spotted him, sitting against a rock and staring into the ocean, you grinned, hurrying up to him.
“Keeho!” You called. He didn’t look at you as you approached. “Are you ready for dinner, my love?”
Keeho’s face, which had grown a larger beard by this point, shook his head. “I’m not ready to go in.” He responded. “I’m just thinking.”
You hummed softly, moving to sit beside him on the rock. “About what?” You asked, despite knowing full well what he was thinking of. It was what he was always thinking of.
“Jiung.” He responded. He sighed, bringing his foot to rest on the rock and leaning against his knee, “You know, he loves it when I bring him flowers.” He said with a small smile. “He would flush so prettily. Say 'thank you’ with that special sparkle in his eyes’ everytime, grinning ridiculously.” He closed his eyes gently. You watched him gently. “I would bring him all types. His favorites were probably the rare ones I found for him. They were…” He thought as if trying to remember what the flowers were called. “Right. They were anemones. I remember I bought seeds from a merchant and made a plant bed for him. I wonder if the flowers are still growing.”
You felt a sense of melancholy. Despite the fact that he had been here a year, he didn’t seem any more in love with you. In fact, he seemed even more deeply in love with his husband than you had ever thought. The fact that he held your heart so close to him meant absolutely nothing to him. He didn’t care at all. The thought made your chest hurt. You took a quiet breath. No. He would be here forever more. There was nothing to stop you from getting him to love you. He would never see Jiung again, so surely he could learn to love you.
“Well… I made your favorite for dinner.” You said softly. “And I have a gift for you.”
“Y/N, I am not interested in your gifts.” You could tell he resisted the urge to say that you knew that. And you did. He never wanted anything you could ever provide for him. Regardless, you would always try and win him over. “I appreciate the thought but I can’t accept something from you if you do it out of love. It would be a betrayal to my husband.”
His words stung. They always did. You nodded again. Like every time. “I know. I just thought I would do something for you. You’ve been talking about how the island gets cold at night, so I made it so it doesn’t get as cold at night.”
He was quiet for a moment before huffing a small chuckle. He opened his eyes, turning to look at you. “Thank you.” The words made your heart leap in your chest. You grinned, nodding.
“Of course. Anything you could ever want is yours.”
The Third Year
You woke up to an empty bed. It wasn’t surprising. You would usually find that Keeho had left the bed through the night to search the island. Even after three years, he still remained hopeful for a ship or a way out of the island. His eagerness to leave made you hurt. As usual, you climbed out of the bed, slipping on your robe and heading to the balcony overlooking the ocean. That was usually where he would be found.
Your eyes found his body easily, his robes sitting against him messily as if he had put them on quickly. Your hand graced his back. He didn’t jump anymore when you touched him.
“Come back to bed, Keeho.” You whispered softly.
Keeho stayed quiet for a moment, staring off into the distance. “I don’t want to.” He said. His voice was quiet and heavy.
“Did you have another nightmare?” His silence was your answer. “Tell me about it?” You hoped his comfort with you would be enough.
He hesitated before he spoke. “I’ve lost countless lives. Watched people I’ve cared about suffer.” He said. The wind carried his voice. You looked out towards the horizon where his gaze stayed. “My friends. Family. Dead. By my hands or because of me.” He shook his head. “I don’t know why I’m telling you this, frankly.” He laughed sadly.
You hesitated before taking your hand off his shoulder, stepping a bit away from him. “You can tell me anything.”
“I might not show it, but I am thankful for your company.”
You tried not to feel giddy. You really did. But it was hard when you were head over heels in love with this man. You didn’t say anything, not wanting to jeopardize this moment, wanting to keep it pure in your mind.
The Fourth Year
“Y/N!” Keeho’s voice called for you through the building. You grinned to yourself that he was calling you and hurried over to where he was sitting, sifting through a pile of shells. “Look, I found a seashell that looks like it has a Y/I in it.”
You laughed softly, “Yeah?” He waved you over, handing you a palm sized seashell with a large, wobbly Y/I design in it. Your heart swelled with affection. “Is it for me?”
“Well, yeah. I don’t have a Y/I in my name, you goof.” He chuckled. He glanced at the table, grabbing a thin piece of rope. “Wait, give it here.” You handed it back to him with a curious expression. You watched as he carefully used his sword to put a small hole in the top of it. Already impressed with this, you watched with bated breath as he put the shell onto the string. “Come here, let me tie it around your neck.”
Your breath hitched in your throat. You nodded, unable to speak as you walked closer to him. You felt his hands trailing over your skin as he tied the necklace around your neck. When he finished, he pulled back, but you found yourself standing there for a moment more, savoring the touch he had given you.
“All done.” He murmured, with a quirk of his lips. You nodded, spinning around to face him. He wasn’t too far now, close enough for you to reach out and touch. You did just that. Your hand reached out. You moved to touch his cheek.
A hand met with yours, tugging your hand away from his face. He gave a small smile, sad perhaps. Or simply just knowing. “No.” He said softly, squeezing your hand. “You know I don’t love you.”
The common knowledge that made your heart ache. You wanted him to love you. You wanted him to scream from the rooftops, to serenade you. You wanted him. But you couldn’t force someone to love you back. You hated this curse the gods put on you, making you fall in love with the man who landed on your island. The punishment seemed far too severe for anything you could have ever done. It was horrific and you wished this pain against no one.
“You know, I used to make seashell necklaces with Jiung.” He murmured softly, releasing your hand and turning back to the table where all the seashells were. “His favorites were the spiral ones. The ones that are almost like cones? Yeah. He said they were the easiest to put on necklaces, so they were his favorites because they didn’t cause so much hassle.” He gave a sad laugh, shaking his head. “He was-” He caught himself. “He is so stupid sometimes.”
You stared at the man in front of you. Your heart ached with the fact that you knew he would never love you back. He was so aware that his very presence made you hurt so badly because he could never love you. He knew that, but there was nothing to be done. The two of you shared a room, a bed, because the gods never bothered to give a second one to you. The island wasn’t that big either. There was no way for either of you to separate for very long. But, you knew that it was painful for him being so far away from his husband for so long. The type of love you both felt was heavy for both of you.
“Am I the first?” He asked suddenly.
You peered at him, your heart beating heavily. “The first?”
“The first to appear on your island. The first you’ve loved?”
It was quiet. The only sounds were of the gentle waves outside. “No.” You whispered softly. "Every few decades... another appears. The gods toy with my heart like its a... stress ball."
He didn’t offer a response, only nodding slowly. He paused in what he was doing, staring at the seashells before finally he spoke again. “I'm sorry. I am flattered you decided to love me.”
You scoffed gently, “I didn’t decide anything.” You murmured. He nodded as if he knew. Did he know? He knew you were cursed to be on this island, perhaps he put two and two together. It was quiet again. “Do you think you’ll ever see him again?” You knew it was impossible. You knew he would never be able to see him again, but you wondered if Keeho held out hope.
“Yes.” Keeho responded honestly. “I know I will.”
The Fifth Year
The routine between the two of you had gotten easier. Wake up, do some chores around the island, chill out, sometimes you two would go swimming together in the bay. It was simple. Easier, somehow.
But at the same time, everything was so much harder. You loved him more now than you had ever. Every time you saw him, your heart fluttered. When you laid beside him at night, you watched as the stars blew him kisses, dawning him in a pale light. You watched as he would emerge from the ocean with a laugh, mesmerised by the way his hair stuck to his forehead.
You found yourself wanting to be near him at all times of the day. And, while you normally did so without much of an issue, it was harder now because you wanted to talk to him at all times of the day. You wanted to interact with him. You wanted him to know how much you adored his mere existence on this stupid island.
It was night when you shook him awake. He grumbled, asking why you were waking him when you told him you had a surprise. He was tired, but he agreed to do what you said. You walked him to the balcony where you had laid out a meal for the two of you. Glasses of wine and sandwiches and legs of lamb. There were even apple tarts you had made for dessert.
He stared at the scene in front of him before sighing, “Y/N…”
“It’s not a date.” You said softly. As much as you wished it was. “I wanted you to know that I appreciate you helping me with chores and spending time with me. I wanted you to know that I cared about you.”
He was quiet for another moment before nodding slowly. “As long as you’re sure this isn’t a date, we can sit.” You nodded and moved to sit across from him as he sat cross-legged. You tried not to stare into his hazel eyes, but the moon hit them so perfectly that it seemed stars danced in them. “You’re staring.” He murmured softly, taking a sip of his wine.
“You’re the most beautiful man I have ever seen.” You whispered.
He swallowed thickly. He didn’t know what to say, that much was obvious. “You know-”
“I know.”
It was quiet as you took a sip of your own wine, turning away from him to watch the sea lap at the shores of your beautiful island. You wanted him to say something that proved he loved you. You wanted him to love you. You wanted him to… you didn’t know what you wanted. You wanted him. But you also wanted him to be happy and you knew that he would never be truly happy on this island.
“I wish I could.” Keeho said softly. “If I could possibly love you, I think I would. You are an amazing man. But you are not him.” You didn’t respond. You didn’t know how to respond. You didn’t know if you wanted to respond. It was hard enough hearing that. “You would like him.” He continued. He either didn’t notice or didn’t care how his words cut into you like daggers. “You remind me of him in some ways.”
“Then why can’t you love me?” You found yourself asking, begging.
He was quiet again. “You know why.”
“Pretend I don’t!” You cried, looking at him with teary eyes. “I know there is no way off this island. I have tried time and time again. I have tried everything there is to try. The waters won’t drown me, the ledge is never high enough, I can’t swim away. If I even tried, I would be brought right back to the beginning like a loop I can’t escape! So why do you think you can be with him again? Why can’t you love me instead?!”
Your question hung in the air. It was heavy. You knew you had asked something that was unfair, but at the moment, you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
“I can’t give up hope. I love Jiung.” Was all he said before standing from the balcony and returning to the house.
The Sixth Year
Keeho seemed more and more desperate as the years continued. He would spend hours chopping down a single tree with his thin blade to tie it together to make a raft. He succeeded once and sailed off, rowing away. You watched him with a heavy heart before his journey restarted and he found himself rowing towards the island instead of away from it. He tried that trick twelve times before he finally got tired enough to return to shore.
He collapsed onto the sands. You moved to stand over him. He breathed heavily, his eyes closed. You kneeled beside him, running your hand through his hair. He didn’t stop you, a tear slipping from his eye.
“Why won’t they let me go home?” He whispered as if he was giving up. “Truly, I have not been a horrible soul. I haven’t done anything for this torture. I blinded a giant that killed some of my closest friends and I’m the bad guy? Please. Let me go home.”
Your heart hurt for him. You didn’t want him to leave but you knew he wanted to so badly that it hurt him. He wanted to leave more than anything and you couldn’t do much to change his mind. Even if you wanted to keep him near you forever, you couldn’t do much to dissuade his thoughts. You wanted to be selfish. You wanted to keep him for yourself. But you couldn’t. You wanted him to be happy more than anything else.
“I wish I could let you go home.” You whispered softly. “I am not the one keeping you here. I wish I could make you happy.”
He opened his eyes, slowly moving to meet yours. “Thank you. That means more to me than anything you could have possibly said.” He murmured. He set his hand on your cheek and you stiffened. Your breath paused as your eyes stared into his. He hesitated before letting his hand fall and taking a deep breath. “Suppose we should start on dinner since I’m not getting out of here.” He murmured. He waited a moment longer before moving to stand up. He stretched and let out his hand, offering it to you. You stared at him as if he was the god before gripping his hand.
The Seventh Year
You knew something was wrong the moment you woke up. Keeho was not laying beside you and the room felt strangely chilly. You rubbed your eyes gently, breathing thicker than normal.
“Well, you’ve looked better.” You jumped, spinning around. You pulled at your blanket, covering your bare chest as you noticed a man. A man with a charmingly mischievous grin. A man you've seen so many times before, though you never seemed to expect him to show up again. Theo was sitting at your desk.. He offered you a sly grin. “What? Missed me?”
You stared at him for a moment before gasping and dropping the blanket, getting to your feet. “Where’s Keeho?”
Theo laughed, throwing his head back as he floated above the ground. “On the beach. What, you thought I took him away?”
“What are you doing here, god of messengers?” You demanded. Relief filled your chest now that you knew Keeho was safe. You scrambled for your tunic.
He hummed, waving a hand, “What, skipping all the formalities? Fine.” He sat up straighter, clearing his throat. “Y/N of Ogygia, you should say your sincerest goodbyes to your friend Keeho because he’s on the first boat outta here!” He swung a fake baseball bat, watching as the pretend ball flew far away.
While you didn’t understand the reference he was making, you understood the gist of what he was saying. “What?” You breathed. Your heart practically stopped in your chest. “That’s impossible.”
“Believe it, sweetheart.” Theo said with a hum. “Seems a certain god took pity on him and decided to let him leave.”
You almost wanted to tell him no, to tell the gods that they couldn’t take Keeho away from you. But… this was what he wanted. As much as it pained you (and it pained you so much), you knew you had to let him go if you ever wanted him to be happy. Your eyes fell to the window where you saw Keeho sitting in the sand on the beach, watching the waves. He seemed carefree.
“He doesn’t know.” You said more than asked.
“Righto. The gods want you to tell him.”
You wanted to scoff. To cry. To scream. To do something that would make the gods feel how heartbroken they were making you feel. But, that would probably make them happy. They wanted you to feel pain. Theo hummed softly, peering out the window. “Might wanna go tell him right now. He should be out of here soon. Make your goodbyes count.”
Before he could say anything else, you swallowed your emotions and bolted from your house, running towards the beach. You yelled his name. He turned with a smile, tilting his head. He looked so… at peace despite the want pulling at his chest. Your heart broke thinking about how happy he’ll be to leave this place. How happy he’ll be to leave you.
“Someone just arrived on the island.” You said when you got close enough. His smile faded and he looked confused.
“I thought you said nobody could come or go from the island unless you allow it.”
“Except for the gods.” You said. He nodded slowly. “You’re being sent home.”
He paused as if he didn’t believe the news. “What?”
“They’re setting you free. They want you to go home.”
Utter joy erupted on his face. “Yeah?” He asked breathlessly as if he didn’t fully believe you still. You nodded, your heart aching. He seemed to sense your pain and knew that this was the truth because he let out a breathy laugh, joy and excitement filling his core. “I get to see Jiung again.” He breathed out before jumping and yelping in glee.
You watched his celebration with sadness. You were happy that he was going to be happy, but the bigger part of you felt horrible. You felt selfish for not wanting him to leave but you loved him so much and you didn’t think you would ever love another man as much ever again. In the heat of his excitement, he rushed over and pulled you into a hug.
Throughout seven years, the two of you had hugged before. But this was different. It was conflicting. You hugged him desperately, as if afraid to let go. He hugged you with airy passion that didn’t fully tug you into him. He laughed breathily again, unable to contain his glee and excitement.
It was within his glee that you spoke up. “I love you.” You saw a boat in the distance, heading towards your island. “I will not apologize for loving you. I’m not sorry for loving you. I love you so much that it hurts.”
His smile faded slightly and he stared at you. There were a few feet between the two of you. He stared into your eyes. “I know. And I’m not asking you to apologize.” He said softly.
“I wish that you could say that you-”
“I love you.” You froze, your breath hitching in your throat again. He looked at you kindly, with a smile. “Just… not in the way you want me to.”
You watched as the boat pulled into the bay and he climbed aboard. You watched silently as he talked with Theo. You watched as he pulled out into the ocean. You took a shaky breath, breaking into a run towards his boat. You stepped into the water, feeling the sand between your toes as you ran towards him and his boat. Towards freedom.
But it would only ever be his freedom. You tried to take another step but the sand held you down, burying over your foot as you tried to move it. Tears streamed down your face and you begged for your freedom. You begged to be aboard that ship with Keeho. But he was destined for Ithaca- for Jiung- and you would never be destined for anything more than the Island of Ogygia.

Show me all the cards you hold close to your chest
I'll take all the parts of you your loved ones detest
Theo knew it wasn’t a good idea when he first met you. But he couldn’t help it. As soon as he laid eyes on you, he didn’t want anything else. He wanted to be wrapped in your arms and wanted to be yours in every way that mattered.
The relationship started behind closed doors, hidden away from cameras and members. Your members never knew anything, and his didn't know anything either. They all knew he was happier, you were happier. He loved every part of you. The way your features scrunched when you laughed, the way your smile melted his heart, the way you were always so put together. He loved your humor, your kindness, everything. He wanted to know everything. Even when everyone was against you, he was on your side.
And in turn, he wanted to be accepted by all of his faults.
At first, it seemed like you did. You would hold him when days were tough. You would reassure him that you loved him and wanted him and that he was amazing.
But then, you never would let him reveal the relationship. Not to his friends, his family, his members, his fans. Not a soul was allowed to know that you and him were a thing. He noticed after a while that you never referred to him as your boyfriend. Never spoke as if you were dating him, just that you were together.
It was enough. For Theo, at least. He had his happiness. Sure, it was exhausting to keep it hidden. And, sure, it was hard to not see you whenever he wanted, but you were his safe place. That connection he longed for, he found in you. He was desperate for the connection. Desperate for acceptance from someone he cared about. Sure, his members accepted him and loved him, but not in the way you did. Or the way he thought you did.
Find me. I'm inside, your insides, it might help.
In front of my eyes, as I talk to myself.
Conversations turned into one-way talks rather quickly. Still, he didn't shy away. He headed straight for you whenever you were alone. He wanted to merge himself with you. He wanted you. In every way imaginable. You were some unspeakable enigma that he kept just for himself. No one else knew about it. It was a secret for him. It was a connection for him. It was his way of feeling accepted and feeling real.
Theo often found himself imagining what it would be like to be in public with you. Or at least in front of his members. Would they see you the same way he did? Or would they judge those little traits that he loved?
Love is a strange, strange word.
It used to mean something, Theo used to believe. He used to think it was the connection he shared with you that was true love. The way he accepted all of your flaws, and the way you accepted his.
He used to believe love was something that could overpower.
What's the point of a friend, if you're on your own in the end?
With you, with them.
I'd go through it all again.
The first time you broke up with him, he was inconsolable. His members didn't know what was wrong, only that he refused to talk to any of them. He was quiet for days, perhaps a week or two. Then he went out for a few hours and came back with a neck of bruises and a stupid grin on his face.
I’ll make an attempt. Knowing That I’ll fuck it up.
(If only you would hate me now)
The arguments were always something stupid that turned into either makeouts that lasted for hours, or a breakup. It was one or the other. No matter how many times Theo tried to talk it out, or just communicate, you would kiss him or leave, depending on your mood and nothing else. It was tiring, trying to figure out the right times to do just about anything. But he loved you, so it was enough.
Hold me in contempt. Cause I don’t wanna interrupt.
When you were in one of your moods, he knew not to bother you. In fear of being broken up with or starting an argument or aggravating you even more than his presence already did during these times, he would leave. He would tell his friends he was fine. That it was normal and everything would work out.
Then you would call him up, apologize over and over and beg for him to come back to you.
He would. Every time. Without fail.
And every time, without fail, you would continue the cycle again. The yelling, the fighting, the stupid arguments, the times where you just didn’t want him around.
It started happening more often. Especially after your group became more popular. You tried to say the popularity didn’t change you, and maybe it didn’t. Maybe it just showcased what you were hiding away. What you already were.
What’s the point of a friend?
If you’re on your own in the end.
With you, with them.
I’d go through it all again.
Time and time again, Theo was reminded how broken you were. He was reminded how you weren’t a good boyfriend, not even close. His friends begged him to come to his senses, leave you. But he couldn’t. He loved you. He could handle the bad times. If he could have you, he could handle anything.

Log 1
He cleared his voice as he looked at the camera screen. “Is this thing recording?” He muttered absently, looking to the side for a minute before clapping and looking back, “Yes! I got it!”
“It’s not like it’s hard.” One of his shipmates said, floating by behind him. He stuck his tongue out at the screen, pushing Han’s head forward as he floated through the room. Han groaned, shoving Hyunjin’s hand away.
“Shut up! Don’t embarrass me.” He muttered. His focus returned to the screen and he grinned brightly, adjusting his glasses. “Hi, my love.” He said, adoration in his eyes as he pictured his beloved. “This is Log 1 out of… however many it takes.” He laughed softly. “I wish this went both ways. I want to hear your voice. I miss you already.”
His eyes trailed over the screen before he cleared his voice again, “Wait, I have an idea.” He reached off screen, his face disappearing for a moment. The only thing visible was the edge of his blue worksuit, his name written in fancy red lettering. He popped back up, holding a piece of paper and grinned. He pulled the paper forward, kissing it before showing the camera. It was of you, right there. It was wrinkled at the edges, and there was a crease in the center as if it had just been unfolded.
“Now I have a piece of you.” He mused. He reached towards the screen, putting it to the side and clipping it under the edges of the screen. “It's like a face time now. We used to do those when we were long distance.” He chuckled softly. “I guess we are long distance now too, huh? Bit farther than we were when I was back on Earth.” His eyes softened, landing away from the camera itself, focusing on the little picture of you. “I promised we wouldn’t be apart again.” He reached forward, thumbing at the photo.
He was quiet for a moment, as if thinking before looking back up at the camera. He sucked in a breath, forcing a grin onto his face, “I’ll be back before you know it, though. Don’t worry. I still have our wedding to look forward to.” He held up his hand. “I still wear the ring every day.” The ring was glistening. “God, I think about that night every single night.” He breathed out a laugh, head leaning back. His hair hovered over his shoulders. “I was so ready to propose to you, then you just surprised me by pulling out the ring and getting on that knee.”
His gaze turned even sweeter, “Can’t wait to get back to you.” Han ran a hand through his hair, causing the floating mess to get even messier.. “God, it's not even a week in and I’m already sentimental. I’m gonna be a mess by the time this trip is over.” He laughed again. “Well, as the first log, I guess I shouldn’t be too long. I have a few tasks to do anyway. Minho and I need to check the ventilation shafts. One of them had a scratch on the metal. I know, it doesn’t sound like a big deal, but ‘everything needs to be investigated’.” He deepened his voice as if mimicking someone. He snickered. “Capt’n Chan says that whenever anything happens. Changbin ate an extra protein bar during breakfast a little bit ago and he brought out an entire investigation.” He smiled softly, “He’s just doing his job, though. We love him. He’s great. Keeps us all sane, honestly.”
He sat for a minute before sucking in a breath and swallowing before his head shot back up and grinning, “Okay! Han Jisung signing out! Love you!” He reached forward. The screen froze.
Log 100
The screen staticed before it appeared. Han looked at the screen curiously before grinning. “Log 100! We made it to a hundred, my love.” He mused. His hand ran through his floating hair before tugging his glasses off and letting them float away. He hummed, “Nobody ever talks about how boring it is in space.”
His eyes flickered around the room before leaning forward, whispering conspiratorily, “Just so we’re clear, I can only listen to the crew yap so much before I go crazy. Seungmin has been so excited about the nebula we saw on our graphs, but I can only hear his star facts so many times before I crash out.” He whined.
“But, I know what you’re gonna say.” He said dramatically, closing his eyes. “‘Jisung, my lovely fiance, my man that does no wrong, surely you realize that you ramble just as much if not more!’” He said in a voice, very unlike your own. It made him laugh, but as his eyes opened, they looked fond. “I know. I ramble a lot too. It's actually kinda endearing how much he likes this mission. He’s obsessed. Since we broke through his reserves, he’s been great. He’s like a big ol’ puppy.”
He laughed softly before falling into a soft quiet. He smiled softly. “Y’know, day one hundred. Kinda ran out of things to say. I mean, I told you about my mission too many times for me to count. I did that before I even left, too. Then, I told you about how much I loved you. I definitely did that before I left.” He chuckled again. “And I told you about how much I miss you. And I told you about the crew. What else is there to talk about? I could share some of Seungmin’s nebular facts.”
He debated for a minute before grinning, chuckling, “Well, my favorite is kinda depressing, I suppose.” He hummed, “Our sun is going to become a nebula. It’ll be red from hydrogen, then will become pretty shades of blues and greens from ionized oxygen. Pretty cool, right? When that happens, we’ll all be dead.”
The grin on his face faded slightly and a look of concentration appeared on his face before he nodded slowly. “I can’t wait to be back.” He murmured. “I keep thinking about it. I hope you’re okay. I know I can’t get any messages from you. And I know it’ll take a little bit for these messages to get to you, but… I hope you’re okay. It scares me sometimes. I get this pit in my chest, telling me that something is going to happen. Something bad. But… I don’t know, I know it's just my anxieties getting to me. If you were here, you’d tell me that it would be okay. You’d hold my hand and tell me how proud you are that I even did this.” He chuckled softly, head dipping down as he fiddled with his fingers.
“...I miss you.” He breathed out. “I miss you so much. It hurts. I just… I think about what you would say to these little logs. I think about how alone you must feel too. Or how hard it is for you, too. I mean, you have our child.” He laughed, wiping his face before tears could even fall. “Our scaly child. I hope you’re taking care of Richard. I trust you with her, but there’s always that worry in the back of my head, in my stomach and chest. It’s just an ache. It’s always there.” He swallowed thickly. “The only time it's not there is when you’re here. But… that’s not possible right now.”
There was a sound from his right and his head tilted towards it. He nodded as someone mumbled something unintelligible before turning back to the screen. He smiled gently, “I have to get going. Gotta check the pressurization chambers. Chan-hyung said he felt a bit weird the other day. I think he’s just feeling the effects of being in space for so long.” He hesitated, glancing outside again before nodding. “Yeah… I gotta go.” He murmured. He sucked in a breath, “I love you. A lot.” He raised his hand, kissing the ring on his finger. “I miss you. It's not too much longer, right?” His eyes trailed to the little counter on the screen, the big number 50 written in the corner. “Right. Not too much longer. Han Jisung signing out.” He reached forward. The screen froze.
Log 338
The screen opened with Han looking more tired than you ever remembered him. He swallowed, “Log 338.” He murmured. “Uhm, hi, my love.” He offered a small smile. “Its… getting harder out here. I didn’t realize how… scary it is out here. How alone you feel, drifting in nothingness. My brain just… goes into overdrive. Being up here makes me realize how… alone we all are. I mean, we’re just floating on a random rock in infinite nothingness.”
He swallowed thickly. “I think you’re the only reason I’m not going insane.” He chuckled weakly. “I mean, come on. The crew is great, but you’re my man, y’know? I’ve never been without your voice since we started dating. That was so long ago. And now, I’ve been without you for… I don’t even know how long. Time isn’t really a… thing here. It's just darkness. All the time. There’s nothing out here. There are stars, but… it's not really something, y’know?” He sighed, running a hand over his face.
“This is a sad call, isn’t it?” He frowned, “Well, it's not even a call. Just a stupid log. That you won’t even get. It makes me feel better to do them, though. It makes me feel like… you aren’t millions of miles away.” He reached forward, taking that photo that he had tucked all those weeks ago. Was it weeks? Or months? “I really miss you.” He whispered, bringing the picture closer to him. He chuckled, spinning it around to the camera. Your face was getting weathered. “I sleep with this, as if I’m sleeping with you. Makes me feel better, I guess. It's the only way I’ll sleep. Minho-hyung took it once, and I didn’t sleep at all. I almost had a panic attack until Chan-hyung told him to give it back.” He turned it back to him, thumbing over your face. “I hope Richard is okay. I hope you’re okay.” He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He was quiet for a minute before opening them. “This is just gonna be a short log. I just… wanted to tell you how great I’m doing right now.” He muttered, sarcastically. He wiped his face. “I’ll be home soon. And we’ll get married. You always told me how your dream wedding would be. I’m gonna make it just like your dreams. I’m gonna make it perfect for you.” He offered a tired smile. “I love you. Han Jisung, signing out.” He reached forward. The screen froze.
Log 562
He started the video by plopping down into his seat. The gravity was on. He looked exhausted. Stressed. His hair was a mess as his hand ran through it, probably for the umpteenth time.
“Log… 562? I think? I may have lost track.” He muttered absently. “We’ve been dealing with some… issues. Some things that should have been checked before we took off that we didn’t realize until now.” He worded his words slowly, carefully, as if trying not to let you worry. “Some things I should have realized before take off.”
“The crew isn’t blaming me, but I know its my fault. It was my job to check and- and I didn’t. I just trusted the home base crew that they checked. It was my only job and I failed.” He swallowed thickly. “My love, I… don’t know when I’m going to see you again.” He said slowly, slightly choking through his words. “I don’t… know if I’m going to make it back to Earth.”
He paused, as if to let the information settle in. “I know, I know! You’re probably saying its just my anxiety but… we still have so long until we get back to Earth. We’re close, but not quite there. And… we don’t have enough fuel. We don’t. We just- There’s no way we’ll be able to make it.” He swallowed again, covering his face. “I don’t- I just- It was my responsibility to make sure everything was fine. And I failed. We don’t have enough fuel to land. We might make it into orbit, but we’ll go into a freefall if we do. We won’t- We won’t survive it. We went farther out than we were meant to and- and we got greedy with our fuel tanks and time and-” He took a shaky breath.
Han wiped his face desperately before looking at the screen again, teary eyed. His face was flushed and he was sniffling. “I miss you so much. I want to give you that wedding. I want to give you everything. I promised you I’d come back safe. I promised you a perfect wedding. I promised you everything. And I- I don’t think I can keep those promises. I’m so sorry.” He breathed out. He stared at the screen for a minute, as if actually realizing what he was saying. “Oh god. I’m not- I’m not going back. We aren’t going back to Earth. O-Oh god. You’re going to- Everyone’s going to be so excited to watch our landing and we’re going to burn up as we enter the atmosphere and free-fall into the ocean and- and-” He sucked in a breath, pinching his arm. “In. One, two, three, four. Hold….. Out. one, two, three, four.” He breathed while counting slowly.
“Chan-hyung said we might make it. He said that its not a guarantee.” Han scoffed. “But…. it is. I’m an engineer. I know- I know what I’m doing. I know how to calculate this. I know my job. I know fuel. We don’t have enough to land. We barely have enough to make it into orbit or the atmosphere. We might not make it that far.” He swallowed. He was quiet, staring at the screen. He picked up that photo of you. That beautiful photo, worn and creased, but so beautiful. He stared at it before pulling it towards him. His head leaned forward into his hold. “I miss you. I miss you so much. I love you so much. Never, ever, ever doubt that I love you so much. I wanted- I want to marry you. I want to marry you so much.”
His name was called from the other room. Han sucked in a sharp breath. “I guess duty calls. I… I love you. I love you so much. I’ll… I’ll see you again. One day.” He swallowed. “Han Jisung… signing out.” He reached forward. The screen froze.
Log 571
The lights were blinking when he was seen popping onto the screen. The lights were red, swirling around the room frantically. It was loud. He spoke, but you could barely hear him over the noises. He said a few frantic words before his head turned to respond to someone off screen. He was shaking his head, quickly, frantic. He walked off screen for a moment.
A moment later, he returned. It still was hard to hear him. His eyes were terrified, shining with unshed tears as if he was trying to be strong for the camera. The lights kept blaring around him.
He rambled incessantly, words unheard to the microphone as he kept gesturing frantically. His eyes flickered to the side, as if checking something before seemingly groaning in frustration. He ran a hand through his hair, frantically thinking about something before leaning close to the camera. He mouthed words, slowly, careful to make sure it was obvious.
Pairing: Slytherin! Hwang Hyunjin x best friend (Chan)’s brother! Inexperienced! M! Hufflepuff! Reader
Words: 3.2k
Warnings: nsfw, choking, rushed beginning, sucking on fingers, kinda kinky, he might be ooc soz, so many pet names not even kidding, boys whimpering, hickies, Changbin is mentioned one (1) time
A/N: Okay, so, I wrote this originally for a harry potter character, but I edited it for Hyunjin. So if he is a bit ooc, that’s why!! Uhm, this is my return and I hope to write a lot more recently. This is also my first (and only...) written NSFW work, so I hope you enjoy it cuties. I wrote this like... 2 and a half years ago. So if its bad blame that....
Your voice came out quietly as you approached the group. “Chan?” You asked, gaining your older brother’s attention. He hummed to his friends, glancing back at you.
“What?”
“Can I borrow your owl?”
Chan frowned, “What? Why? Who are you sending letters to?”
You flushed, hiding in your robes more. “I- uh, just someone?”
He stared at you suspiciously. His friends snickered, eyeing you and your brother. Your eyes trailed to his friends, eyeing one in particular. His own eyes were settled on the boy to his left (you think it was Changbin, but you weren’t sure; Hyunjin was the only one of Chan’s friends you really knew) as he laughed. You loved to watch the way Hyunjin’s eyes sparkled as he laughed. He caught your gaze and winked, causing your face to flush.
“Earth to Y/N?” Chan chuckled, smacking your shoulder lightly. You snapped out of your gaze. “I don’t care. Just be careful. And make sure he gets fed when he gets back to you in the morning.” You nodded.
“‘Course. Thanks.” You said quickly before hurrying towards your next class, eyeing Hyunjin as you rushed by. Your plan was perfect (you hoped at least). With your friends by your side, cheering you on, you wrote the letter to Hyunjin. It was a short letter, simply telling him that you liked him. You told him that if he returned your feelings, he should come to the Astronomy Tower once Chan fell asleep.
That night, you waited beneath the stars. You paced impatiently. Was he going to show up? Maybe he didn’t even like boys! Maybe you read the entire situation wrong. He seemed like he liked boys, but maybe your gaydar was wrong? Your mind rushed a mile a minute, debating every little thing. Every noise you heard had you overthinking.
A cough interrupted you. You spun around to see Hyunjin standing there with a smirk. One of his brows perched up when he saw you. “Heard you wanted to see me?” He stepped closer, coming close enough where your crossed arms touched his chest. “I read your note. Cute.”
Your face felt hot as you curled into your robes, “Y-Yeah? And your response?”
He rolled his eyes, grinning. He spread his arms out, spinning in place. “Well, I’m here, aren’t I? You said if I liked you back to show up.”
Your eyes widened, “Wh-What? You actually like me?”
Hyunjin nodded, “Yeah. Surprise for me too, don’t worry.” His grin turned teasing. “I mean, I can just go if you prefer, sweetheart.”
“No!” You found yourself shouting before realizing it. You bent your head in embarrassment, “Ah, I mean, no? Please, don’t go. I really like you.”
He stepped closer to you, grabbing your hips and pulling you in. “You do? I didn’t think you did. I thought that letter was from your brother.” He rolled his eyes. You huffed, going to speak before he placed his index finger on your lips. “Shhh.” He whispered, pulling you close enough to touch his hips. You stared at him before eyeing the finger he placed on your lips. You breathed out gently before slowly reaching up and taking them in your mouth fully. Your tongue surrounded his fingers.
Hyunjin’s eyes widened slightly in surprise before he groaned, “Shit, baby, keep that up and stuff might get heated.”
You popped the digits out of your mouth, “A-And if that’s what I’m planning? To get heated?”
He chuckled, “Damn, I didn’t realize you were so needy, sweetheart.” He reached over and tucked his hands under your robes, touching your bare skin. He pulled the material over your shoulders before working on your undershirt.
You whined softly, “Hyunjin… wait.” You murmured. His hands stalled, rubbing circles on your hip. “This- It’ll be my first.”
“Oh? Guess I have to make it the best, then, darling.” He pulled your undershirt off, eying your chest with a smirk.
You hummed, “H-Here? You wanna do it here?” He raised an eyebrow. You glanced back, “I, uh, my dorm is empty. My roommates aren’t there tonight.”
He leaned back with a groan, “Oh, yeah, sure. Lead the way, darling.” You threw your shirt and robes on haphazardly and grabbed his hand, leading him to the dorms. He watched carefully when you entered the song to the Hufflepuff common rooms. He followed carefully when you climbed the stairs until you unlocked your dorm room. Closing the door behind him, you led him directly to your bed. You sat down before pulling him closer, laying back so he was positioned over you.
“Damn, baby, I didn’t know you could be so controlling.” Hyunjin murmured, his lips touching you for the first time, grazing the side of your neck. You whimpered slightly. “What do you want me to do to you? Give me your words, pretty boy.”
“I- I only know of one thing I’d like. I’ve never tried it but it sounds like something I’d like.” You said quietly. His lips paused for a moment on your neck, showing you that you had his attention. “Choke me?” He coughed out a laugh.
“This is your first time and your askin’ me to choke you? Damn.” You felt hot at his words, hiding in your hands. He chuckled softly, “No judgement from me, baby, I’ll choke you all night.” He leaned in, preparing to kiss you before pausing, seeing your conflicted face. “We don’t have to do anything, doll. We can just talk if you prefer.”
“I-It’s not that.” He could tell you were embarrassed. “I- This’ll be my first everything.” You explained. “First time, and first, uh, kiss.” You paused, taking a deep breath. “Will you take my first kiss, Hyunjin?”
He paused, staring at you for a moment. His lips spread into a grin, “Of course. I’ll take all of your firsts if you allow me, doll.” His lips reached down slowly until they met yours softly. As the kiss continued, it became less soft and careful and more intense. Your hands clutched at his clothes, rubbing the front of his chest before slipping under the fabric and groaning when you felt his muscles.
Hyunjin made a similar noise into your lips, pushing you on the bed completely before moving to fully lay on top of you, his arms and knees holding him above you. His head drooped from your lips, dropping to your neck to press open-mouthed kisses across the blank space.
Already, you felt out of breath. It was exhilarating. You were feeling things you had never felt before. You gasped slightly as Hyunjin gave a small bite at your neck, licking the area afterward. You groaned, arching your back. He sat up after a moment of suckling and grinned at you.
“How’re you feeling, sweetheart?” You whimpered softly. “Yeah? That good, huh?” He pushed forward, setting his knee against your hard dick. You groaned at the contact. “What do you want me to do? Use your words, doll.”
You swallowed thickly, “I- oh, fuck. I don’t- What do you want to do, Hyunjin?”
“No, no, this is all about you today.” He replied, kissing your jawline.
Your brain was foggy. What did you want to do? What did people usually do during these things? But… before you wanted him to take your first time, you wanted to know. Was this real for him? Or was this a one-time hookup? You voiced your issue with him nervously, “B-Before we go ahead, Hyunjin, I- I need you to tell me this isn’t a one time thing. I- I need you.”
He paused for a moment before smiling softly, the softest smile he had given you that night. His lips trailed up your jaw before he pecked your lips a few times. “Doll, I would be honored to be your boyfriend, if that’s what you're asking me.” Your eyes went wide but you nodded enthusiastically. “Damn, your first boyfriend, eh? I get to be the lucky one who takes all your firsts.” He chuckled before pressing his lips to yours once more. He went to pull away, but your fingers carded through his hair, pulling him closer to you roughly.
The sound he made from the rough pull of his hair went straight to your dick. You felt it straining against your bottoms, begging to be released. You kissed him roughly, passionately. His own hand went up to tug your hair, catching you off guard just enough for him to slip his tongue into your mouth. He explored the area with great interest, uncovering every inch he could reach with his tongue.
“Ah- Hyunjin, please.” He could hear how needy and desperate you were for him as his lips trailed down your throat once more. He quickly pulled off your shirt and robes, doing the same for his own right after. You stared at his chest unabashedly. His own eyes scanned yours. His lips curled into a smug smirk.
“Please what, doll.” Hyunjin teased as he admired your assets.
“Touch me, choke me, anything.”
He chuckled darkly, his hand moving to gently lay on top of your throat. He didn’t put any pressure. “Are you sure you want me to choke you?” You nodded enthusiastically. “If it gets too much, tap my arm twice, deal?” Once he got your confirmation, he squeezed a little tighter. Immediately, you groaned. He watched your eyes roll back. “Oh, fuck.”
His lips fell onto yours quickly before he removed his hand for a moment. He fiddled with his slacks. He got them off as quickly as he could before pulling yours off. Your cock jumped to life quickly when he yanked your underwear off. He admired it closely. “Do you really want this, doll? I can just suck you off if you want.” He offered, staring at your dick, almost mesmerised.
“Yes. Fuck, yes. Touch me. Put it inside me. I don’t care.” You whined. He snickered softly.
“Right, then, up and attem.” He murmured, flipping you around. Your stomach was on the bed as he raised your hips. His fingers pressed into your mouth once again. His other hand drifted downwards, wrapping around his own dick. He moaned quietly at the feeling of your tongue tangling with his fingers. Once he felt they were sufficiently wet, he pulled them from your mouth. You hummed, annoyed at the loss of his touch. “Patience, doll. “ He chuckled before prodding at your ass with his fingers.
You gasped, your back arching as a shiver went through you. You could feel your eyes roll back as he laughed at your reaction. He paused for a moment before slowly entering a finger in you. He waited for your reaction before continuing, pumping in and out a few times before adding a second finger. Your breaths came out ragged and you felt hot and overwhelmed, but in a good way.
You pushed your butt out more, trying to get him to go deeper. You felt the base of his knuckles and he chuckled. “Patience, sweetheart.” He cooed, removing his fingers. “You’re just too desperate.” He leaned forward, kissing behind your ear. “Do you have a condom? Lube? Anything?”
You felt flushed as you shook your head, “A-Ah, no. I didn’t think we’d get this far.” You admitted.
Hyunjin snickered, “Yeah? Good thing I carried some with me.” He admitted. The confession caught you off guard. You blinked in surprise as he quickly climbed off the bed, reaching into his robes to reveal a condom and a small container of lube. “I’m always prepared.” He commented when he saw your surprised expression.
He returned to leaning over you and popped open the container of lube. The tube made a noise as it was squeezed and you gasped when the cold substance hit your hole. He took a second to use his fingers to spread it and push into you a few more times before slipping the condom on himself. “You sure, doll?” He said quietly, staring into your eyes when you glanced back at him. You nodded and he shook his head, “No, no, words. I need your words.”
“Y-Yeah. I want this. I want you.”
The words encouraged him to carefully align himself with your hole before slowly pushing in. You gasped at the pain that spread. It hurt. You whimpered softly, pushing your head into your pillows. You waited as he sunk into you before he stopped for a moment. “Tell me when, doll.” He whispered, pressing kisses to the back of your neck.
You waited until the pain dimmed to a low ache rather than a shooting pain before nodding, “Y-yeah, I’m good.” He waited for a moment more before moving his hips slowly. The previous pain was quickly forgotten as a sense of pleasure erupted. You moaned rather loudly before pressing your head back into your pillows to muffle your noises.
Hyunjin groaned as he pushed back in. “Merlin, sweetheart, you’re so tight.” He managed to say. You couldn’t reply, only whimpering and moaning into your pillows. “Lift your head up, let me hear all your pretty little noises.” He said suddenly, pulling your hair up lightly. You lifted your head right as he snapped his hips into you, abandoning the slow pace he was using before.
You moaned out loudly. Your eyes rolled back and you felt pure pleasure as he quickened his pace, pounding into you. You couldn’t force yourself to quiet as your noises grew in volume, echoing in the room. You could barely hear when Hyunjin mumbled out a quiet spell to the room, making it entirely soundproof. Your fingers clutched the bed sheets as you cried, tears running down your face.
“Hold on, sweetheart.” He muttered softly, pulling out entirely. You whined at the loss of his cock before he flipped you around. He immediately pounded into you again, staring at your tear-stained face. “That’s right, baby. Come on.” His voice sounded down-right naughty as he talked you through it. Your hands went up to clutch at his shoulders and he hissed when your nails dug into him.
His face leaned down, biting on your shoulder as he pounded into you, nipping at your most sensitive spots. Your mind couldn’t think of anything other than him. He was encompassing everything. He was all you felt, heard, thought about. Distantly, you could still taste his lips on yours. It felt like a paradise.
There was a weird feeling creeping up your cock and you felt like you were going to burst. “A-Ah, Hyunjin-”
He took a glance at you before looking down at your cock. “Let it out, darlin’. Cum for me, you pretty boy.” His words of affirmation set you over the edge. You moaned loudly as cum shot from your tip, creeping up your chest and dribbling off the side of it. You panted heavily as Hyunjin continued to pump into you. It felt so overwhelming for him to keep going and you whined until he quickly pulled out, groaning quietly as he came.
“Ah, the things you do to me, doll.” He said, out of breath. He stayed leaning over you for a moment longer, catching his breath before he rolled off of you, lying beside you. He grasped at his cock, tearing the condom off of him and getting to his feet. You watched, still breathing heavily, as he moved to the bathroom. You heard the sink running for a moment before he returned with a cloth. He carefully leaned over you and wiped you free of any remnants of your climax. As he did, his eyes locked onto yours. There was a hint of adoration in his eyes as he took in your fucked-out expression.
Once you were sufficiently cleaned, Hyunjin entered the bathroom once more. You tried to keep your eyes open to watch him and find out what he was going to do, but your eyes slipped closed without your permission and you found yourself asleep rather quickly.
The next morning, you felt sore. You stretched carefully, wincing slightly at the feeling of your sore ass and muscles before moving to stand up. You flinched when two arms wrapped around your waist, bringing you back down to the bed. You were pleasantly surprised to see Hyunjin there, eyes hooded with sleep. “Where do you think you’re going, doll?”
You turned in his grasp, facing him. “Hyunjin? You didn’t leave?”
He let out a noise as he adjusted slightly, “What? Why would I do that?” His eyes opened slightly more and he ran his fingers through your hair.
“I thought- Were you telling the truth last night? You really want to be my boyfriend?”
He chuckled, his voice still gruff from just waking up. “Why would I lie to you, doll? You’re mine.” You felt warm again before hesitantly wrapping your arms around him. He hummed, resting his head on top of yours. “How’re you feelin’?”
“Sore.” You replied quietly. “But not in an awful way.” Your hands caressed his back and you could feel scratches that you left. “I’m sorry for scratching you.”
“You won’t see me complaining.” Hyunjin commented with a laugh. “I quite like seeing how you marked me.”
You rolled your eyes, “Oh shush.” You hummed before realizing, sitting up. “Oh, did you mark me? I remember you paying a lot of attention to my neck and collar.”
His eyes trailed down your neck and chest. “More than just your neck and collar.” You glanced down. Last night you hadn’t noticed, but there were hickies on your chest. You ran hot as you hurried to the mirror in your room. Hyunjin laughed as he saw you frantically locating all of the marks.
“Hyunjin, this isn’t funny!” You hissed without any viper. “How will we hide these from my brother?”
“We could just let them be there. Who cares? I know I want to see you walking the halls with my marks. Dissuade those girls in your class from staring at you as if you were a piece of meat.”
His comment made you blink, “What? Nobody stares at me like that.”
Hyunjin scoffed, “Sure. Of course you’d think that. You never noticed me staring at you and you spent an awful lot of time looking back.”
“You- You saw me?!”
“I’m surprised Chan never noticed.” He chuckled once again.
You were quiet, investigating the marks before sighing. “I still need to hide these. If it's okay with you, I don’t want Chan knowing about us right now.” He frowned slightly but nodded. “I just- I know how he can be around people. Especially because of me. You wouldn’t believe the last time somebody tried to ask me on a date. She was afraid to even look at me after that. And I declined her invite!”
“You think he’ll care? That was two years ago.” Hyunjin said, stretching as he made his way towards you. He wrapped his arms around your waist, turning you around to face him. With your silence, he sighed. “Fine. I don’t mind. Besides, gives me a chance to keep you to myself. Mark you however I like without anyone knowing it was me.” He smirked. “Yeah, maybe I like the sound of that.”
“Hyunjin!” You shrieked quietly, hiding your embarrassed face in his chest as he laughed.
White Noise is an insane title hello?? What's it about 👁️👁️
hi hi!! White Noise is a song by James Marriott. Its basically about the value of relationships (specifically friendships, but I'll be writing about a romantic relarionship) and how it could be valuable, even if you're completely alone in the end. Basically about grieving a relationship and wondering its value before it even ends. By forms of outside pressures on the relationship and internal issues, and just the weight of life, relationships dont tend to last.
if you're curious, the other p1 angst fics in my queue are also James Marriott song fics!! I highly recommend checking out his songs!
they *should* be out soon, but I've been in a weird headache lately, so who knows lmfao.

Keeho (wc: 294)
You should have known that he knew the prank before you even started. When the waitress came up with her smile, asking what you both wanted to eat. You waited for Keeho to order his food before humming quietly to yourself.
“Hm. I think… I want the steak.” You said with a nod. “And… Keeho, babe, can I get the fries with that this time?” The waitress’s smile quickly turned forced as her brows knit slightly.
Keeho nodded along like nothing happened, “Hm? But you got the fries last time. Surely you can go for a salad now.” He said, frowning over at you. You could see the mischief glinting in his eyes. “They’ll have a salad with that steak.” He said to the waitress.
The waitress nodded and walked away quickly, as if desperate to separate from the situation. You gasped, smacking his shoulder, “Keeho!”
“Don’t act like that!” He laughed, eyes sparkling. “You started it!” He nudged your shoulder with his. “Come on, it was funny.”
You laughed with him, bumping him back. “But I wanted fries!”
“Shouldn’t have played that prank, then, huh?”
You huffed, laughing to yourself as you spotted the waitress talking to one of her coworkers. “You’re gonna make the waitress think you’re toxic.”
He shrugged, “It’ll be fine.” He reassured.
Sure enough, when the waitress returned with your orders, he hummed, “Here, you can have the fries.” He said, passing his order of fries towards you and taking the salad for himself. “Can’t have my baby eating greens. That’s just toxic.” He teased. The waitress looked like she could have sighed in relief as she set down the remaining plates.
You grinned, “Thank youuuu!” You dragged out, leaning against his shoulder. He scoffed, pushing you off teasingly.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. Eat before I take it back.”
Theo (wc: 268)
You were out with friends when it happened. You sat across from your best friend while Theo sat at your side. You and her were just chatting normally, talking about random things before she brought up a tiktok prank she had seen. You glanced over, noticing Theo in a conversation with your friend’s boyfriend, not paying attention to the conversation you were having. You grinned. Perfect.
The waiter came over to take your orders. Your friend ordered first, then her boyfriend, then Theo. Theo glanced over to you as you ordered. Your brows furrowed as if in deep thought.
“I was thinking the fillet.” You said with a hum. “And, Theo, can I get the fries?”
“Huh? Yeah.” He said absently, glancing at you for only a moment. After a second, he processed it, his brows furrowing, “Wait, what? Why are you asking me?”
“Oh! Yay! Thanks, babe!” You said as if it was a real treat, grinning at the server. “The fillet with the side of fries, thank you!”
The waiter walked away and you sipped at your drink while Theo was still processing it beside you. His brows were still knit, “Babe, I don’t control what you eat. Eat whatever you want. You know that, right?”
You couldn’t really help it anymore. You and your friend glanced at each other before breaking out into laughter. “Yeah, I know. It's just a prank.” You reassured him, grinning. “We would have had some real problems if you had said no.”
His brows relaxed and an amused smile appeared on his face, “You’re such a brat.” He muttered, chuckling.
Jiung (wc: 380)
It was nearing midnight when you and Jiung decided to brave the world and head to the nearby 24/hr McDonalds. You were snuggled in his hoodie and his pinky was intertwined with yours as you entered the place. He held the door open for you and you walked in, thinking about how much you wanted to toy with him.
He walked up to the register and ordered a meal for himself before busying himself with his wallet as he waited for you to order. You hummed before pointing out the meal you wanted before pausing and glancing at him, tugging on his shirt sleeve. He looked towards you.
“Can I get the fries this time?”
He paused, as if he had to take a minute to comprehend what you had said. Then, he lifted his head and glanced at the teen taking the order. Then, back at you. “Why wouldn’t you be able to get fries?” He asked slowly, brows knitting together. “I have plenty to let you get fries with your order.”
Your heart could have melted. He thought it was about money. You almost felt bad continuing. “No, I mean, I know you can afford it. I mean, am I allowed?”
He stared at you as if you were speaking another language before just turning back to the teen. “Add fries to their meal. Large.” He muttered. You stifled your laugh as he paid for the meal before leading you to a table. He looked at you almost betrayed. “Allowed? Really? You were asking if I was letting you get fries? At McDonalds? When do I not let you get whatever you want?”
You laughed, “It was trending on tiktok, sorry, babe. I felt bad almost immediately."
“I don’t like those jokes.” He muttered, bordering on sheepish. “I don’t want anyone to think I’m controlling.” He paused, glancing over at you. “I’m not, right? I don’t try to be.”
Again, you almost melted. “Not at all, my love. You’re perfect.”
Jiung nodded, “Good. Now, we just need to make sure that guy at the counter thinks so. He gave me such a dirty look when we walked away.” He groaned, putting his face in his arm. “I’m never going to be able to come back here again.”
Intak (wc: 454)
Intak had invited you to dinner that night. You were beyond excited. You got ready and made sure you looked nice and took photos of you feeling yourself, and you looked drop-dead gorgeous. You were confident and you were sexy.
And then, Intak came home and revealed he had forgotten he had asked you out.
You weren’t angry, per se. Just miffed that all your hard work would mean nothing.
He quickly remedied by taking you to a different restaurant than the one he had originally promised. Still a nicer restaurant, so you didn’t feel completely out of place in your nice clothes. And he had apologized so many times that you didn’t even feel upset at all anymore.
But, why not have a little fun with him?
The waitress smiled politely as she walked over, asking for your orders. Intak gave his, before smiling over at you for you to make your own. His eyes flickered across the menu as he waited.
“Hmm, ‘tak what am I allowed to get?” You asked. He glanced up, not processing your words for a moment.
“You can get whatever you want, jagi.” He stated like it was obvious. His brows furrowed as he looked at you.
“No, I mean, do I have to just get a salad this time? I want a steak.” You frowned slightly, “I mean, I’ll take it easy for the next few days, but I really don’t want a salad tonight.”
The waitress’s face turned pink and she excused herself, saying she’d come back in a few minutes. Intak’s face had also gone red as his eyes widened in comedic disbelief.
“Huh?! What? What are you talking about?!” His words spewed out, looking almost betrayed. “I have never forced you to get anything you didn’t want! You can always order whatever you want.” he insisted.
You bit back a smile, “But, I know you don’t like it when I have too many carbs.”
“When did I say that?!” He looked scandalized. “No, no, eat whatever you want. Literally whatever you want. You could buy the whole menu and I wouldn't bat an eye.” He scoffed. “Salad? Really?” You couldn’t help your grin from falling through your expression. He noticed it and he narrowed his eyes playfully, “You’re messing with me, aren’t you?”
You nodded, unable to help yourself from laughing. “Yeah. It's a tiktok prank that’s going a bit crazy right now.” You laughed into your hand. “You got so offended!”
“Well, yeah! I had no idea what you were talking about!” He complained with a grin on his face, showing he wasn’t angry. “You’re something, jagi.” he snickered, shaking his head. You laughed softly, grinning as the waitress approached once more.
Soul (wc: 405)
Keeho was the one who suggested the prank to you. You had gone out with your boyfriend and his members to some random fast food joint after their practice. Keeho had texted you about the prank a few days earlier, so you decided to try it out and see how Soul would react.
Since it was after company hours, everyone ordered and paid for their own food, besides Soul who offered to pay for yours. Orders had gone around and you were standing in line beside Soul. He ordered his own meal before glancing at you to wait for your order.
You hummed as if thinking, “Sho, can I get a side of fries with my food?”
You heard Keeho snickering already behind you, but you paid it no mind as your boyfriend fixed his lovely boba eyes on you. His brows pinched in confusion, tilting his head slightly as if he didn’t understand the question. He let out a little hum. You repeated your question.
“Why… are you asking me?” He responded. “If that’s what you want. Get it.” He said as if it was obvious.
“I’m just making sure I’m allowed. You know, since usually you have me get salads.”
He looked impossibly more lost as he stared at you, “I… do?” He said slowly. “Uh, well, this once is fine. You can get fries.” He glanced behind towards his friends with an extremely confused expression on his face.
“Yay! Thanks, Sho!” You said, wrapping your arms around his waist. He didn’t respond, still playing the conversation on loop in his mind as he paid. Everyone found a booth to sit at and you leaned against Soul’s shoulder. Several minutes passed and no one mentioned it before Soul spoke again.
“Do I really make you feel like you have to order salads?”
You glanced at him, noticing the turmoil in his expression. You frowned, “Oh, no, no, baby. You don’t. It was just a prank. Keeho showed it to me earlier.”
He looked relieved immediately, “Oh, good. Okay. I was scared for a minute. I didn’t think I made you do that.”
You grinned, pecking his cheek, “Nope. You’re really sweet. You don’t make me do anything. And you couldn’t even if you wanted to.” Keeho snickered from across the table, shaking his phone lightly.
“I recorded it!” he sang. “Now to post it all over tiktok. The hoes are gonna love this.”
Jongseob (wc: 504)
Jongseob was possibly more chronically online than anyone you knew. It was very rare that you saw a video or prank idea that he hadn’t seen first. Which was the same with this one.
The restaurant you were at was pretty fancy, was above what you and he usually went to together, but it was a nice night and he wanted to spoil you a bit. But, the night wasn’t just for dinner, of course. No, he had to throw in a stupid joke to make you question yourself.
The waiter that came by was nice enough, taking your order diligently. When he turned to your boyfriend, Jongseob frowned slightly before glancing up at you. His hand reached out to hold yours gently. “Babe, can I get the steak? I’ll be good. I just want the steak and fries.”
You blinked, staring at him as if he lost his mind. “Huh?”
“The fries. And steak? I know, I know, usually you have me get salads, but just this once, since it's a special night, you know?”
You couldn’t even figure out what he was talking about. For one, he was the one buying dinner. And for two, when had you ever restricted his food intake? You glanced between him and the menu, then him and the waiter before nodding slowly, still utterly confused.
“Oh, uh, yes? Yeah, that sounds… fine?”
He sighed in relief, “Thanks, babe, you’re the best.” He said before turning to the waiter and repeating his order- steak and fries. The waiter walked away and he smiled at you. The hints of his mischief shined through his eyes. “Thanks for letting me have that, jagi.”
You stared for a moment longer before just shaking your head, “What just happened?”
Jongseob laughed, “Nothing. Just ordering, why? Did something happen to you?”
You stared at him, then the tablecloth, trying to figure out if it had actually happened or if you were just playing yourself. “You know that you’re buying, right?” He nodded. “And… you know I don’t make you do anything. Especially not related to food.” He nodded again, a teasing grin on his face. You recognized the emotion now and groaned, throwing your napkin at him. He laughed. “You meanie! I thought you were being serious!”
He laughed, dodging the projectile. “Hey, hey, I was just teasing!” He defended, mischief swimming in his gaze. You scoffed, a smile fighting to grace your lips. “You’re smiling. You found it funny.” He accused with a grin.
“Nope. No way.”
“You definitely did!”
You bit back your laugh as you shook your head, not even bothering to hide your grin, “Not at all. It was stupid.”
“You’re laughing, you liar!” Jongseob grinned, kicking you lightly. You let out a fake gasp, holding a hand to your heart. “First you infer that I’m a controlling partner, now you’re injuring me? God, you are a piece of work.” You teased. He snickered. The night, full of jokes, was even more perfect than you had originally imagined.
