because during all the episode it felt like he was restraining himself from saying or doing what he wanted to please her. i mean, he was really considerate of her and absolutely sweet, but it was... not right, at the same time. their relationship is adorable, but sometimes it looks like a teenager baby sitting a 3 year old little girl. you know, when the teenager is kind of afraid to make the little girl start crying so he just gives her whatever she wants? pretty much. they don't feel like equals? it could be totally the script fault but... yeah. in this episode especially. all the times he wanted to say something to her but didn't and just smiled, and then him confessing that he didn't like what she did during the interviews. it practically happened for everything she did. if he doesn't like something i would expect him just to say it out loud? that's why.
