I have a feeling the new episode will start with some type of service so we can reconnect with the emotional toll it takes on him, then later in the episode he got to torrio about his plans on taking on the police. just a hopeful assumption.

Plus who doesn't love an emotional Al? amiright? No but serioisly, I'm hopeful they wont skip out on anything in the next episode (and if not the next on, then the one after)...

His finger did not shift toward pulling the trigger at any point after seeing Frank. But Frank was going to get shot anyway. Those men were there to kill him no matter what the circumstance.
