Alright twst fans and kh fans time to unite to answer a question neither side probably thought about [more so twst kh fans might not know who I'm talking about lol]

i’ve seen people complain about how square keeps making sora more dumb and i get that and agree sometimes because i do think that there are some moments where sora is definitely smarter than depicted. however, i sometimes i think it fits and its not because he is actually dumb but because he’s had his mind messed with a lot. and it was messed with during his formative years. in later games, sora is often forgetful, asking what other characters consider to be dumb questions, and shown being slow on the uptake. these things make sense when you consider that:
a) sora’s had his memories scattered and rearranged
b) had an entire year of his adolescence (an important time for brain development) forfeited to a coma in order to fix said scattered memories
c) has been manipulated and the victim of mind games multiple times
d) incurred heaping amounts of trauma in a very short amount of time
don’t get me wrong, i feel like sora is definitely smart in his own way and deserves to have more moments to shine in that regard, but when there’s moments where he forgets things or isn’t able to connect the dots as quickly as everyone else, it makes sense to me. it feels logical, understandable. when those moments happen and other characters make fun of him, i’m always like this kid’s brain has gone through hell and back, it’s a miracle it’s still functioning at all so give him some slack for fucks sake!
he’s still missing memories and it seems like he’s lost more in kh3 (if we’re assuming he forgot about riku’s sacrifice and the realizations he had regarding riku as the light) and might continue to keep losing them in kh4. his mind has suffered a lot and i wish the other characters would be more understanding. but for me, when i see him acting “dumb,” it doesn’t always feel out of character given what he’s gone through. he’s not dumb, his mind has just endured a lot and it makes sense that there are lasting effects from those events.
i have no idea if this is intentional, though lol if it’s not, then square, stop making him so dumb because he’s way smarter than that and you know it.
but if it is intentional, then i love it because it gives me so much satisfaction when events have tangible lasting effects, especially in ways that aren’t outright stated. it would also be cool if this was intentionally supposed to be a factor in sora’s self worth arc. because of his perceived increase of “dumbness,” other characters make fun of him more, making him feel worthless and wrecking his self esteem even further. it’s not his fault he’s having a hard time but he doesn’t understand why it’s happening and it’s another thing for people to shit on him for and eventually he’s going to snap or break under the pressure from all that shit. if this or something like it is the intended outcome, i think that would sick
There’s a couple of cool ideas I had about KH4 and instead of bugging my poor brother I’m just gonna write them here:
Princess and the frog Status effect that works same as being hit by touch me frogs. Basically Froggy heartless or the shadow man hit you with a spell and 💥BOOM 💥Frog master.
BRAVE battle against Mordu, where Sora and/or Riku can use a bagpipe sounding spell to disperse heartless. This one I like specifically because historically drums and bagpipes were played on battlefields to intimidate enemies.
Also concerning BRAVE, it would be cool for there to be a bear summon or something.
I’d like to see some more of Radient gardens for sure. It’s kind of been repaired quite quick in terms of the in game timeline, and I’d love to explore it more.
Also, it probably won’t happen but it would be really cool to see them use the clone wars art style IF we do get Star Wars. They likely won’t and instead do the OG or sequel trilogy but still.
Also a pod racing mini game?????👀 CaNtEeNa MINI GAME?!?
If we were to get inside out, I think it would make more sense for it to be either in Kairis head or Sora’s, possibly Ventus’. This is because I don’t think it makes any sense for it to be Riley from the OG movie.
It would be interesting to see if Joy is micromanaging Sora’s brain while Sadness is trying to be heard like in the film, but also hearing Sora’s Fears and his anger have a voice would be interesting.
I desperately want to see Coco because visually that world would be stunning but I really hope they don’t reduce it to rhythm based play like little mermaid. It would be cool to have music based attacks for sure, but similarly to how Bard attacks work in FFXIV. Basically Songs creating status affects both positive and negative.
I will accept a shot for shot remake of remember me, because that song is truly a masterpiece and mama coco deserves the world.
Moana. Now, I know it’s a contentious point but I think this world would have AMAZING potential. Singing aside, Tafiti would be a stunning boss, and also would really hammer home that being corrupted by darkness is not the end, and that it can be healed. It would be a good world for Riku to experience I think, as art of his own growth.
And yes, I think having Moui as a party member as well as Moana would be great. I also think as a summon Moui has great potential.
The other art that’s beneficial to Moana is this idea of responsibility, and how traditional ways of doing something, don’t always mean they are right. Moana stepped onto the raft, same as Riku, she took a chance and it went wrong but she came through it. Moana and Riku have a lot in common thematically.
I’d like to think that Riku and Sora got some more fight time together, or that Kairi has gotten stronger since we saw her last. It would be cool to play as her though I don’t think we will get to.
I’d also like the hear about Roxas and Xion. And have some more uncovered about Ventus and Vanitas. But we will see.
ive come to the conclusion that Kairi straight up dislikes Riku by the end of KH1. I think she struggles with forgiving him and seeing the good in him that Sora still sees and its SOOOO intriguing.
