Good times
Called 'Betels' in Sri Lanka, this khaini mix is known by other names elsewhere. Here it contains areca nut, betel leaves, tobacco and some lime paste (in a small paper pouch), as displayed by a local seller.
It provided a different buzz to what I had experienced elsewhere, with some nausea and disorientation, which I suspect was down to the lime-potentiation of the mapacho-like tobacco, which was absent from some of the other variants. As a consequence it induced a less-clean stimulation. Note that it can be overwhelming, especially to non-tolerant travellers, so do take it easy of you encounter this.
