Joint Compliance [Closed]
“How can you not be offended?” Lucius hissed as they waited for the Raven Guard to arrive.
“It is as the Warmaster wishes and Lord Fulgrim commands,” Saul pointed out, wondering why he inevitably needed to explain so much to his companion. It wasn’t as if their current objective had been achieved by any means, after all.
Rather, the people of Argos V remained firm in their zealous worship of the Many Eyes. A creature whose likeness was ever-present in the form of statues, stained glass, and altars. It was a gangly, pale thing, covered in eyes, the largest of which were on the palms of its hands.
It saw everything, passing this insight onto the true and devout. Nonsense as far as Tarvitz could tell. There seemed to be four or five leaders serving the beast’s interest or, more precisely, their own through the gullibility and superstition of their fellows.
“Let us hope they don’t make matters worse,” Lucius muttered. He seemed disappointed as always that Saul remained so calm in the face of change.
“Strive for some positivity,” Saul agreed. His eyes wandered over the line of his men, all of whom were coming to attention as Shadowhawks descended. “Instead let us hope to make battle-brothers through this joint venture.”
