(Probably really late) I was in the same boat; Kate died in my first play through, and I found out you could save her, so I did. But not saving her made the story so much heavier. I miss her so much though. I want to hug her forever.

Yeah, to make the story heavier, I ended up letting Kate die. I just think it makes the story far more meaningful!
