LOL I love that the lawyers are like yeah we deal with a lot of controversial shit, neo-Nazis, Donald Trump, but the JD stans are the most extreme and aggressive we’ve dealt with. It’s a very interesting piece tying it all together though, none of this is particularly surprising but he truly did do everything he could to tank his own career just because he wanted revenge against Amber Heard so badly. I mean, he sounds like a narcissistic, completely out of touch lunatic, which is pretty much how he’s been presenting publicly for quite a while now. I hope that what they’re saying is true though, I hope he truly is persona non grata and isn’t just going to deal with like a year of no work and go back to business as usual later (although I like that they made the point about what a fucking shit show he is in terms of liability for film studios, because if anything, that will be the killer for him, celebs can come back from anything so long as they’re not getting high and assaulting people on set but if studios hire him for shit knowing that this is his behavior their insurance must be insane and they’d be fucked if he actually does something).

The bizarre thing is he’s actually generally a really reasonable human being; we can talk about history literally for hours and he’s well-informed and articulate, and we don’t butt heads on our opinions. I just have to try and avoid discussion of present-day politics as much as possible. Occasionally he or my mom say something that I just have to correct, and then I drop a casual, “Well actually” and for some reason that usually shuts the discussion down. I don’t know if they figure they just can’t reason with me, or if they feel awkward that I called out their shitty opinion with an actual provable fact. (Example: my mom made a racist comment the other day while we were discussing the protests/riots. She said, “It’s always black people looting, you never see Mexicans or white people doing it.” I didn’t point out that it was a shitty thing to say, I just went, “Well, actually, I was just watching a livestream of a Target in Minneapolis getting looted, and several of the people who walked right past the camera were white.” And she STFU and then changed the subject.)

Oh my God, I fall down the Reddit rabbit hole all the time, how have I not heard of that subreddit??? See you guys in a month.

I used to refuse to even go up to the counter at fast food restaurants to ask for like…a straw. Because I was so shy. My mom would get so irritated with me lol.

Doing that stuff was terrifying. It was bad enough if you had to go up there, actually asking for something was so much worse.

Listen. I think about this a lot. Media is scared to admit that promiscuous behavior isn't just what they like to paint as "slutty choices to be shamed for." It bothers me.

God. I fucking know. They won’t show “victim behaviour” if it’s not the right kind of victim behaviour (i.e. feeling shame, being depressed and delicate etc.). They won’t show people being sexual or aggressive or being reckless as a result of this trauma. It annoys me because I have a few friends who have been assaulted in some way and I’ve had to help them not get into messy situations and interfere when they were going to do risky/reckless sexual stuff that would put them in danger. I actually think that the hypersexual response is just as common as someone who is very scared to do anything sexual, maybe even more so. But they don’t want to show that because they only want to show “slutty characters” i.e. women, in a morally reprehensible way. I think they believe that the audience won’t empathize with their female character if they show this - probably because they can’t empathize themselves.
