12. what headcanon will you keep implementing in your fics, even if canon ends up contradicting it?

This is a weird one because canon literally contradicts itself with it lol. Nick is not a bad boy okay!! He is a theater nerd and infernal choir boy! He tucks his books into bed with him probably! Maybe he even keeps extra copies of his favorites so he can write little notes in the margins without messing up the originals! HE IS SOFT. Canon gives us this for the most part by showing, but then they randomly have characters bring up how he is “bad”? Like whereeeee, caos writers, where??

I just want to know a little more about this little red riding hood type fic you were considering doing. Whatever you want to give for it.

Oh, I still am very much planning to do it, but it has an actual plot instead of the vignette structure I’ve been working on for “Beast”. That means it’s going to require a different kind of work for me. As I’ve said before, plotting is not my strongest suit - send me some of your plotting karma, please!

As it’s structured now, it takes place in the 18th century. Frontier land. Sabrina has run off from her coven and her family for reasons that I won’t reveal here, and is hiding out in a village where the usual cast of mortal characters live.

Only then people from the village and its surroundings start dying off, superstitions immediately deciding it’s a werewolf.

And wouldn’t you know it, the killings started up after a very, very handsome young huntsman came to the village for the winter. Who may or may not have demons of his own on his heels.

1. What was the first fandom and/or pairing that you wrote fic for?

The first fandom I wrote for was Twilight almost 16 years ago... I wrote mostly Bella/Edward but I wrote an Alice/Jasper one-shot for a friend too.

7. Which part of writing do you struggle with most?

The “in between”? hahaha... I’m always sure about how I want to start the story, what I want to achieve in the end, but sometimes you have to put some extra things in the “middle” and that complicates things a bit at least for me.

10. Do you enjoy writing dialogue, exposition, or plot the most?

I really ended up loving writing dialogue. But at the beginning... I struggled a lot with them.

Klaroline Fic Rec Event 2020 - Day 3: Angst

Title: The Devil's Backbone

Summary: With the race on for the cure, some will fall, some will rise, and some will go insane. Friendships end and new ones spark as secrets are revealed and what some believe to be the truth will turn out to be nothing but lies. While others may discover that they're not as different as they had believed. But will it matter if there is no world left? Set after 4x09. [Klaus/Caroline]

Warnings: couple people get rather tortured, an entire dinner party gets eaten, Kol just basically Exists, kidnapping, murder, mayhem, one (1) den of iniquity, a werewolf transformation sequence or three, Elena BSOD, Damon's usual finesse with sire bonds, dead children mention, Klaus burns down at least one town, smut, gratuitous use of compulsion, someone stakes themself, some discussion of Damon being The Worst and Why, a few side character deaths

Why you should read it: Okay so this is a whole redo of the Silas arc from right after Klaus slaughters the hybrids. Basically works from the premise of "What if these characters actually were ruthless immortal monsters instead of like, kind of evil foils to the Salvatore plot armor?" Like right off the bat Klaus is like "I need some information. I know! I will torture it out of Stefan!" and then he fuckin does bc Nutjob McMikaelson rules in this planetary house, yo.

Kol ends up getting wind of the cult of Silas being back to party and he goes fuckin apeshit. Kidnaps Caroline to force Klaus to murder some people ("Did you try and ask him?" AGSJDKAAH CAROLINE) and starts off the first of several fun road trips in this fic. Klaus comes in clutch and then hunts a motherfucker down to get his girl. Caroline and him spend the rest of the fic in a hilarious dynamic of "Maybe we could not murder literally everyone that looks at me?" while he's like "Nah," and then eats them.

The whole Silas plot mystery is great and them doing research to Defeat The Evil while the evil laughs from the shadows is fun. The character dynamics are even more fun tho, even tho there is angst here that does not sleep. Caroline has to come to terms with her vampire existence in a big way while still being true to her core. Klaus has to chill out abt the fact that his heart now exists outside his body in Caroline's tiny hands, and by that i mean he does not chill out, not even a little bit, rest in pieces dude.

Basically if you want intense creeper murder Klaus, this is ur fuckin stop and it is so good. Also contains homicidal siblings sharing one (1) collective brain cell, bad ass Bennett witch fu, actual Forbes parenting, Katherine scheming, Tyler being just literally so dumb, staring into the distance and muttering "Why?" while Damon and Stefan just keep doing the most, and Rebekah making even more bad decisions. I'm making this sound really fun maybe (and it is) but i was stressing the fuck out the whole time bc im not an angst slut and actively avoid it most of the time but like, please read this fic it is good and will restore ur crops.

I just watched it all. The ending for CAOS was crap. There were some fun bits in the other episodes but that ending was just awful.

It was actually SO SO SO BAD THOUGH. Like I’m astonished at how bad it was and I’m having trouble fully comprehending it. I feel like the whole season was a very weird pivot to an anthology style that I didn’t like anyway, but I have a very hard time understanding how that was the ending they came up with and committed to. It was just so weird and thrown together and nonsensical and I’m so disappointed, like I was so excited to watch it literally like 12 hours ago and no word of a lie, when I was in the last 10-15 minutes of the finale I literally thought “I cannot wait for this to be over”. AND SOMEHOW THE VERY END MADE IT EVEN WORSE! IT WAS REALLY VERY IMPRESSIVELY TERRIBLE!

Klaus took the small stack of images one of member of his network had managed to procure. He flipped ifly through them, noting Tatia’s eyes and hair, the same curve of her lips on the brunette in the various picture. “Her name is Elena Gilbert”, Greta drawles out, as she preached herself on the desk he was sitting at. He ignore her for the moment, stopping om a photo of Elena with another girl with blond hair. He couldn’t see the girl’s face, but her hair invoked memories of another, of one he’s never stop searching for, He flipped to the next and the world seemed to cease moving as he started down at the photograph. He knew this face, he knew those eyes and that smile like he knew the back of his own hand. “Persephone”, he whispered, too low for Greta to make out as his fingers drifted over the young woman’s face.
