Helping Streamers as Told by Khaljiit
(Original Twitter thread here)
People always ask how they can help streamers and the answer isn’t just $$$
Tell your friends about the channel
Welcome new members to chat
Hype up subs / bits / donos
Do commands for people
RT the stream
Talk in chat
Share our social medias
Ask questions in chat
I’ll add some more and explain my thoughts:
When viewers bring their friends to chat with them it makes our community seem incredibly friendly and warm to everyone and allows more viewers to engage and chat because they want to
Tell the streamer about cool chat commands, bots, games you saw
Did you see something on twitter about a sponsorship or opportunity? Let them know!
See a streamer at a con? Ask them if you can take a picture with them and share it on social media
Ask them how their day is
Most of us care more about chat interaction than sub count or viewer count, so with that in mind, helping keep chat active and fun is so helpful! Ask us and chat what we are doing, what games we are looking forward to, about Twitch con or our lives as long as its not too personal
Participate in post-stream raids to other channels
Let us know if our sound is off
Does a command have a dead link? Let us know.
Brainstorm new channel ideas
Want to see a game streamed? If the streamer is variety and is open to suggestions, speak up and tell them :)
A lot of streamers post things like this every now and then, because for some reason, people think that supporting means to give money. No, that’s only one way and not even the most important.
When someone enters my stream, I leave it up to them how they want to watch. Don’t feel pressured in thinking you HAVE or NEED to do something, I’m happy enough to let you lurk while I play and babble about the game!
Anyway, you can find Khaljiit/Julia on Twitter, Twitch and in the Twitch Kittens community Discord.
You’ll find me in similar places here, here and here! ;-)
