MerKhayn AU - First meeting ♥

Making chibis and comics is hard, yo!

These are my OCs in a Mermaid AU! Music was the first thing that connected these two in the canon story, and I wanted to preserve that here. Heena is longing for someone that's far away, and Khayn resonates with her sad music. He's longing for someone too, after being alone for the most part of his life, and his heart becomes enchanted by this human girl. But it seems like some confusion might arise from this encounter? :D

Khayn Merman AU -  Habits of a merman in love ♥

I came up with this AU about my OC Khayn during Mermay and only now I managed to finish this (chemotherapy got in the way). In this AU, he’s a lonely mute merman that fell in love with a human girl and tries his best to court her.

Eating: His diet is mostly based on seaweeds and fruits. He loves watermelons and coconuts but it's not easy for him to find them, so this one was brought and prepared by his crush, Heena. Also, you can see the engagement stone in his hand bracelet. This stone is firstly worn by males and then given to the merman's partner when he's accepted by his love interest. So, the presence of the stone means he's single. Exploring: One of his ways to express his care and love for Heena is to make jewelry for her and gifting her beautiful stones or sea shells. He can invest a lot of time finding the perfect one for her. The blue fishes are actually his helpers, he has quite a few. He is able to control them mentally and they can perform simple tasks for him like searching things, watching an area and alerting him of anything strange.   Sleeping: After a long day of exploring and playing with Heena, he rests in the depths of the sea. It seems he's having some nice dreams!

Here's my son Khayn, in a serious mood, for Inktober's Profile prompt from my custom list. Ah, I painted this so quickly! But I had fun with the hair and the colors! Missed my baby! When things get rough and he needs extra boost, Khayn uses his celestial powers to wipe the trash. As a half-vampire, this takes a big toll on him so he only uses it when he loses his patience in emergencies and can not withstand it for a long time. His dark and celestial energy have to co-exist in the same body at the same time which creates a lot of conflict. In this state, his whole body literally burns due to both energies colliding and battling against each other, the celestial energy trying to take over and clean the dark energy in him. After returning to normal, fumes can be seen surrounding him due to the burning. His energy gets depleted to the bare minimum, so he always collapses and needs some time to recover. It's both exhausting and dangerous.

Clothing reference for my character Khayn. ♥

This boy is the character I have the most troubles drawing and I always fail at keeping him consistent which is very frustrating because I really want to draw him more. So I've been trying to study him these last months and one of the things I thought could help was to actually try designing him all over to have a clear idea of how he should look. It may not be obvious but this was a lot of work and a lot of time was invested on creating this. It was also my first try on a full body study so excuse the anatomy errors you may see. It wasn't easy but it was very fun experimenting and playing the clothing game with him. :)

"Once an angel, now a vampire, but still part human. Each race represents a dilemma for him, but all of them make him a whole and he can't escape from that." Finally a frontal portrait of my OC Khayn!  I always have a lot of troubles to draw him and make him look as I see him in my head!! Every time I draw him he turns out different. :( What is consistency anyways?

Still, I think I got him quite close of how he looks in my mind and I enjoyed painting his wings! :D I hope you like him. <3
