When 12-year-old Kheris Rogers was bullied for her skin color, her big sister Taylor recalled a message they both knew well:
Flexin’ in my complexion.
It’s something their grandmother often told them. “It doesn’t matter what other people think of you. It’s really what you think about yourself,” Kheris told Lester Holt.
That message resonated online, leading the sisters to start a clothing company with a goal of empowering others. It’s been embraced by celebrities like Lebron James, Lupita Nyong'o and Alicia Keys.
