Hey there! I'd like to ask 9 and 6 from the writing ask meme! I'd love to know more about your writing process :)
what's your writing process like?
very erratic LOL i tend to just follow the whims of my inspiration and write when i feel that strong urge. but i also have a method when i need to get words out and it's like pulling teeth - ie using a timer application on the discord server i made just for me and my numerous wips lolol i don't really outline things unless i have the whole story fully formed in my brain. so for instance, I Tadui Hanar *had* an outline but i've since lost the page (and i need to rework it anyway), my youth, our youth has an outline because the dates (just like the former mentioned fic) are important to the timeline of the story, and i outlined court of strangers to hell and back because without one i would get way too confused differentiating between two characters with the exact same name. however, for the most part, i just kinda go into a wip with a vibe and i try to follow it from there. i'm currently bouncing between 4 dreamling wips and just plonking away at each one when the feeling takes me (or i have the appropriate writing music playing) for me, it helps because i tend to write in a sorta stream of consciousness way.
what's the hardest part of your writing process for you?
haha definitely the writing itself i guess. i'm not very fast and my average word count is usually a solid 500-1k. not very much. i try my best but it's hard to get in the zone and actually work on something when you don't have much privacy. so of course this leads to me writing at around midnight and then i make several spelling errors. or it leads to me forcing myself to write immediately after waking up - which recently has been around 4-5am - so again, very blurry and very Not in the writing frame of mind for any coherent storytelling. but i make do!
