@khoc-week Day 7: Destiny Islands - Kairi

Palinurus: Hey, wanna go flying? Kairi: Don't we need pixie dust for that? Palinurus: /visible apauled/ what are they TEACHING you kids these days?! I literally have WINGS- pixie dust is so unreliable - LIO GET OVER HERE WE NEED TO FIX THIS STAT!

FUNNY CONVO ASIDE- I can see Cielio and Palinurus taking a liking to Kairi- obvs cause of the whole princess of heart thing, but just her personality and eagerness to learn in general. And as mentioned before - Palinurus will take any advantage to teach someone if they let him.

Cielio, I can see, in particular, getting close to Kairi in a more friendly way rather than a mentor-student way, though. That's just the vibe I get off the bat, I'd have to think on it more to give an exact reason. Maybe its cause they're both orphans, maybe its cause Kairi would be able to get Cielio out of his shell abit, maybe it's because Kairi needs as many stable older figures in her life as she can get (not dissing aqua but girl spent so much time in the realm of darkness I wouldn't consider her the most 'stable).

ALSO SHOUTOUT TO EVERYONE WHO HAS LIKED/REBLOGGED/COMMENTED ON MY ART THIS WEEK!! YALL THE REAL ONES!!! It was so nice getting to revisit and redesign these two for this week and work on these illustrations. It was a mad rush to get them done before my birthday and before the week started but I don't regret it in the slightest.

@khoc-week Day 4 - Atlantica: Seashells + Flounder (technically)

THIS PIECE KICKED MY ASS TBH. I have never tried to draw a piece involving the ocean really before, so I wasn't sure where to start, and the reference I was using had a specific lighting I really wanted to pull off, but had no idea how to execute. In the end, I kind of threw out the reference and went on pure vibes and it did end up looking somewhat like the reference I was using, so all's well that ends well?

Funfact about Cielio and Palinurus for this piece, they've never seen an ocean! So their first time experiencing an ocean would be traveling to other worlds. Tempestus doesn't have an ocean, as the islands float in the sky. There is occasional rainfall that fill their lakes, and the largest lake is on the spirit's home island that magically refills because magic, obviously, but that is more of a vast lake and nowhere near the size of an ocean.

Which is why whenever they would first travel to Atlantica, I picture that they would start more at Eric's castle rather than in the sea - because they don't know the concept of the sea/sea creature, their magic wouldn't know what to turn them into to help them navigate under water.

I also think this piece shows off Palinurus' and Cielio's personalities well, Pali trying to get close to the action/people of the ocean rightt away while Cielio is content to watch from the sidelines and is more cautious, opting to collect the seashells instead and show them to Pali later.

Hmm, I've been in a slump with art lately, but I've had a big burst with writing motivation and inspiration. I've also been finding that writing the recent crossovers between my ocs and friends/ acquaintances has really helped me grow in how I write too. It's been great practice!

So, if anyone has any ocs (especially kh ocs) they want me to write about for them, hmu! I especially would love to write more interactions between others ocs and mine!

No promises or anything, this isn't me opening commissions, but if anyone wants to collab with ocs and want to offer up their ocs for me to write about, I wanna give it a shot!
