Exquisitely Evil Eberron Escapades (ch1): Converging Lines
Rubble comes crashing down from the ceiling above, the stones crushing much of her life’s work as they fall. The House of Vol had been persecuted for the genetic “monstrosities” they had created, and this had been the center of those efforts. The combined forces of the draconic Light of Siberys and the eleven Deathgaurd laid destruction upon the last bastion of the bloodline of Vol. They had swept through all of Aerenal and had now arrived at the southern island of Thal Taluna, where the lab had been kept secret. Now that it has been discovered, the raiders would destroy everything inside and no one will be left alive. She knew their ruthlessness all too well.
Luckily, she hasn’t been alive for quite some time.
She tears through the lab, dodging falling debris while the heavy wooden doors splinter. The entrance has been barred, but it would only be minutes before the guards force their way inside.
The elven woman tosses rubble aside in her search. Suddenly, the whole lab begins to shake violently and the trembling floor beneath her causes her to fly forward into the table in front of her. She reaches out and tries to hold herself steady, grasping at whatever she can. Her hand wraps around a lever, which she pulls as she is jostled around. The mechanism triggers.
A blinding white light engulfs the room before she hears the raiders rush into the lab.
Then everything goes dark, there is nothing.
Environments (Yarkuun Draal and a water-elemental lyrander airship, respectively) for an Eberron D&D campaign. (Feel free to save for personal use if it’s useful for your campaign, DM says it’s okay!)
I found this homebrew map of Khorvaire that whatgravitas on reddit made and I’m pretty much in love with it. Slapping an inland sea in the middle just changes so much about the setting. It makes Thrane into a navel powerhouse, enhances the rivalry between Karrnath and Thrane, changes the way the war was fought and provides free real estate for the pirates of the Lhazaar Principalities who can now raid three nations (well...two now but Cyre would have been a target).
It also changes the shape of a lot of the nations and actually the overall territory size is smaller making the setting feel more populated
