Hello there! I am curious, I have briefly heard of the Temple of Set and Setians. I am curious, and I am NOT asking to debate or whatever. I ask out of sincere curiosity... what is Setian philosophy specifically? If there is too much to say on the matter, I would happily look up something if you could point me to a concise explanation that you personally feel does it justice. I assume Wikipedia wouldn't be good enough. I hope I am not asking for too much. Thank you kindly for your time. :-)
In simplest terms, a Setian’s path is about continual personal empowerment and self-knowledge through continual, mindful evolution. One of its core ideas is that the human spark of self-aware consciousness is a powerful and way-underused key to fulfillment of our deep desires. The process involved includes taking a look deep inside to understand yourself, then looking for ways to create change inside and outside yourself. The better you get at it, the more you can remake your own world to your own liking. And this isn’t something you need a permission slip from any god, church, or external authority to accomplish on your own terms.
That’s my short, short version. The best place to learn more about the Temple of Set is the official website. The KHPR podcast also has some very worthwhile talks you may find of interest. You might also consider following setemheb, who writes extensively on a range of topics from a Setian, Left-Hand Path perspective.
As for books: arguably the most comprehensive book on what the Temple is and isn’t is The Temple of Set vol. I & II by Michael A. Aquino. Other important Left Hand Path books by Setian authors include Lords of the Left Hand Path by Stephen E. Flowers and Uncle Setnakt’s Essential Guide to the Left Hand Path by Don Webb.
Anyway, that’s a start. Have fun, and holler if you have a further question. If I can’t answer authoritatively, I can connect you with someone who can very easily!
