Zara left a job in legal to work at a crisis center because she wanted to help those who needed the most help. Like Jodie.

Jodi is sixteen and has facial deformities. When she accuses four boys in her class of sexual assault, it splits the community apart. They’re from immigrant families and they all have alibis. Quite a few people (including Jodi’s best friend) don’t believe her, but Zara does. And, so she sets out to find out the truth. Zara is Muslim as are the accused attackers and so when she starts looking into it, the pressure is coming from all sides at her.
