I follow Jordan and everyone else, multitasking by also checking and replying to my texts. I fall a little bit behind, and Kian notices, stopping for a second to walk next to me and match my pace. We smile at each other and I feel the need to get off my phone, for Kian’s sake. It’d be rude if I didn’t, so I turn my phone off and put it in my pocket. “You could keep talking. I will make sure that you don’t not get lost.” He says, his accent heavy, smiling. “No, it’s okay.” I smile back softly. “Okay, well, if you want to, I will lead the way.” He smiles again, and I feel heat rising to my cheeks. I give back a soft smile and turn my head forward again, hiding my blushing face. I think he notices, because out of the corner of my eye, I see him smile. Jordan notices our falling behind, and he smirks as he talks, causing everyone else to look back at us. “This isn’t a rom-com, Kian.” I get the sense Kian is also blushing now, as a result of Jordan’s comment. “I’m just trying to be nice.” He defends, in a calm and nonchalant tone, as if it was a normal comment. Jordan gives him a look. “Mhm.” He says skeptically, Annaliya and Camille give each other a look. I can’t tell what kind though, it doesn’t seem like a joking one, like they’re tuning in on Jordan’s joke, but at the same time, I don’t have a great view of their faces. “Stop.” Kian grunts, and Jordan smirks at him. “Ooooh!” Jordan swoons. Kian blushes more. “Shut up.” Jordan continues smirking. “Someone’s getting defensive.” Kian sighs, seeming to have given up on this argument. He ignores Jordan and turns towards me again, causing me to blush even more. “I do not like you. Not in mean way, but do you know what I mean?” He says, and I have to admire his cute English skills. “Yeah.” I smile softly. “Me neither.” I turn away awkwardly and focus on the path ahead of me. Jordan is whispering something to the girls.
