The clench of minutes bounding wrongly back.

I am kind at midnight, apology.

You should not have to go on forever,

But, the dawn has run away, and to when?

I want to belong to the dawn the way

my brother belonged to the sea. Knife. Gills.

Pretended to breathe deep and laughed and drowned.

The dawn doesn’t want to be the dawning

and I want to be brighter than my grief.

The dawn refuses to come to me here.

This town, this place, split it open the way

you halve a tangerine and unearth, in

side, rot. I want it to kill me, the light.

Any advice on finding a critique partner? I just finished my second novel and it's not something my old CP is interested in (different genre and it isn't their thing)!

Can you give me details? I’ll post it on my blog and maybe someone will be interested! At the very least we can get you a signal boost.

There are also places like the Absolute Write forums, where there’s a sub-forum specifically for finding betas. You post a blurb of what you need critiqued, and anyone interested messages you. Generally, you’ll beta something of theirs in return. It’s a pretty good give and take!

The alliterative appeal of the Alachish Apple filled Anya with amusement. The august allure of the apple’s aquamarine skin, the attractive appellation hailing its heritage in the aforementioned area known as Alach - it all alluded to an amazingly appetizing apple.

What's your favorite part of writing Songbird???

Oh, gosh, so much!! I guess my favorite would be watching it grow — seeing the themes slowly reveal themselves, watching the characters become more fleshed-out, that sort of thing!
