How not to mock and satirize powerful people (Politicians, the Wealthy, etc)
Call them fat
Call them stupid
"Wonder," aloud, if they use diapers
Make fun of the way they talk or walk
Call them old
Call them "crazy," or "mentally ill"
This behavior is thought-less at best, and maliciously ableist at worst.
Fat people, intellectually disabled people, incontinent people, the elderly, and mentally ill people, are more likely to be out of power (and suffer for it) than those at the top of the Power Pyramid, whom you think you are so cleverly aiming at.
But they will hear your words, and your words will hurt.
If you consider yourself anywhere left of center, politically, and you make these sorts of comments about Trump, just know: you're making his moves for him.
This is the thing I hate most about "leftist" jokes, in the last few years.
You may think you're punching up, but you're also kicking down at the same time (and not even noticing).
Besides, what we need to be drawing attention to, and lambasting, is the evil decisions and actions that they do on purpose. Symptoms of universal human frailty have nothing to do with why we're enraged.
