Classics publishing is ripe for disruption. Its fundamental business model is in large part premised on selling freely available materials at premium prices. That looks unsustainable, yet the lack of innovation and new business models from the main brands is starkly obvious.
Small players self financing super-high end editions through Kickstarter promises a beautiful future for classics collectors.
