Hey folks, Kid Jupiter here. Just a brief visit, we’re not spying on what people post here, I promise. You guys deserve privacy as much as we do - which is what this little post is about.

There have been a couple of things happen over the past couple of months that subtly invaded our privacy, including people searching for our private Facebook pages/addresses and posting photos of us on Pinterest that weren’t shared on the Kid Jupiter pages, as well as stealing photos from a photographer we worked with that we had not authorised to be made public.

I love interacting with people who enjoy our music, and people who are excited to see how we progress as a band. That’s literally all I ever wanted from my music, is to have a group of people who are excited to hear the next song. If you don’t respect our privacy as real people with normal lives, however, that communication and interaction will probably have to stop. I like talking to fans, and obviously I’m aware of certain factors that might make people more excited about the band than other regular artists, but if it’s a choice between chatting to fans and my band’s safety, I can only choose the latter.

If you find our private accounts on Facebook, please don’t add us. If ANYONE sees one of our home addresses posted by someone on the internet, please let us know immediately. Moreover, if you attempt to stalk or harass any of us either online or in person, you’ll be banned from our shows. That’s just how it is.

That doesn’t mean I don’t want people to come say hi, particularly at gigs. We love the fact that we’ve already got such a group of people that know/like our songs, and I love just chatting to people who are affected by what we do. But if we say no to chatting with you on the street, or say no to a selfie, or don’t talk back on social media, that’s our choice to make - we don’t owe people anything, we’re just living our lives.

I really hope you’re looking forward to the release of Corkscrew, we’ve worked really really hard on it, and to the people who are able to come to gigs, I’m looking forward to seeing you. To everyone else, I hope that what we post from gigs and other days on our social media is enough. We have so much planned to show you, and I’d hate for you not to see it just because you went looking in places that aren’t your business.
