You imagine yourself at the place he said he was before he fell and you’re there. The abyss yawns. This is no good. You imagine him alive and well and next to you, but pause. Hm. Now that you really think about it, his stats are way too low, aren’t they?]

[You check to make sure Asriel is asleep before you leave. Goodnight, sweet prince! You’re not sure how long this will take, but you’re hoping you can get back before he wakes up. It’d be a pretty neat surprise, you think, for him to wake up to see Chara with their own body! For real, this time!]

[Because you do feel bad. Bad that Chara doesn’t have the autonomy they should, bad they don’t have their own body, bad that they’re stuck with you. It’s the least they deserve, you think, for you to at least try to get them one. Right?]

A vial, completely nondescript if not for the translucent fluid that somehow manages to shimmer a little in the darkness. You could almost pretend it’s saying hi!]

[You pick it up, turning the vial this way and that to get a better look at what’s inside. So...this is Determination, huh? You can see little flickers of color in the liquid as it catches the faint light, as if it’s opalescent or something. It’s pretty. You could look at it for hours, probably, but Chara’s impatience is getting to you and you almost fumble and drop it. Oops! You should probably stop playing around now.]

[Asriel said. Asriel said that something like this could work, right? You have a lot of Determination, but not enough- not enough for something like this. Resetting time is one thing, but willing a body into existence for your friend and removing what’s left of their soul from your own is another entirely. You just need a little more. Just a little.
