LITTLE MAKOTO IN SPACE!
More children! Sakura: She was definitely the hardest design for me to do but my gosh was it rewarding as hell. I wanted to ensure she looked strong but also cute and all. Thus, I gave her a little flower broach/pin of some sorts on her chest and a little red butterfly clip. Who knows. Maybe it's a gift that she got. Also, I did try with the muscles. I am not the best at those but I tried! Also contemplated giving her pants so she could fight better but opted for the skirt so she still has some ties to her original design. Will def draw her in a full gi sometime though. Might also give her a design with bandages on her arms too. Chihiro: I used a bit of one of Chihiro's beta designs as a base since it was giving some cute energy. Gave Chihiro some headphones too since the outfit wasn't giving the programmer energy. Not that Chihiro's base outfit gives programmer. Still though, wanted to get some of that in there. Also, I have no idea why but I'm looking at little Chihiro now and imagining them making a ton of cool as hell games on Scratch. Not cus they can't use other programs but that they're just that good. Aoi: Was both easy and hard to do for her. Her base outfit already works well for an itty bitty version and I wanted to ensure that I wasn't just drawing the characters but shrunk down. Thus, I gave Aoi longer hair. The hair at the top didn't change though since it's iconic and adds to her silhouette more. No clue how I'd reinvent that. For the colors, I will be real. I kinda just picked whatever to make it look similar but not the same as her original counter part. Thus, hoodie on the waist! Made her shoes similar though cus I felt they fit with that sorta energy of a little girl who's just throwing on some clothes before running off to do some stuff and practice her swimming. Added the acne too cus preteen. Mondo: This little biker boy. Yeah. I had the same issues I had with Aoi which was that his base design was already pretty good material for a younger revamp. However, I needed to give him more stuff to work with. Thus, purple leather coat with the sleaves ripped off! He did not do it for fashion. He probably says that he got into a really gnarly fight when he just got a bit too rowdy with a giant ass dog or something. I also gave him like, one of those twigs or like, a toothpick in his mouth. Cus why not. It looked cool and gave him more. His hair stayed the same too cus he could have gotten tips and tricks how to style it from his older brother, Daiya. Like, Mondo is kinda mirroring him in a sense cus of how much he admires him. Finally, once again with the middle schooler acne. Kiyotaka: I feel Taka has that energy of his younger selves looking like shrunk down versions of his older self. He just has that vibe to him. Thus, I just did some small adjustments for him. Have him a little star on him cus he just gives MAJOR energy of that one kid who excelled and always got like "the star of the day" or something like that. Gave him little boy shorts too cus why not! They look cute! And yes. I gave Taka the Spongebob socks. He does not know that they are the socks of the Sponge. Also, the boots stayed cus why not! Maybe he also wants to look taller cus maybe's a bit on he shorter size. Who knows! I don't! One last thing is that I gave Taka like a missing tooth/tooth gap in his bottom row. I just felt it really added to the whole design. Hope the designs are good here too! As I mentioned on Aoi's section, wanted to ensure that they weren't just a carbon copy of themselves since no one is once they get older. So, yeah. This means I will give them all some horrible fashion choses too or just stuff they could look back on and be like "ew! so tacky". Think that'd be pretty fun!
AAAAAAAA! I finally finished this post that's been camping out in my drafts for freaking months! Let's gooooo!!!! Here are a small selection of the middle schoolers. Took me a while but I refined some of them. For now, it's this cluster but the others will appear soon! I swear!
Also, though they are open for some change, I got some explanations for all of them. Makoto: Pretty basic. Just him with a hoodie upgrade. I also gave him a bracelet as well. Had this idea of well, since Makoto and Sayaka new each other in middle school, maybe they get aqquainted more in this new canon and give each other friendship bracelets! In the killing game setting, if I go with this idea for this au, it can be a bit of a betrayal too cus like, she did a bad thing but also GASP! The bracelets! How could she! In a happy timeline/reimagining Danganronpa as a shitty kids show, it could just be wholesome. One other thing about Makoto's design that I'd like to note is his Band-Aid and acne. For the Band-Aid, just thought it'd be fun. Also, it mirrors someone else's design that I have that I will showcase soon. It's cute imagining Makoto carrying these band-aids around though cus he's in that awkward middle schooler phase which makes him more clumsy. He doesn't like it. Kyoko: Okay. Just stole her entire vibe from the Danganronpa Kirigiri novels. Here. Proof. Just drew her worse. May give her a more original outfit but for now, this is it.
Byakuya: Yeah. He was absurdly easy. Just gave him a silly sweater vest, shorts, and some goofy ass socks. I might improve this design later on but for now, this is his look as well. Leon: Leon was trickly and easy because his outfit was simple to translate into but also, he had a completly different look at some point in his youth that changed cus girls or something. Not the most well versed in the Leon lore so if anyone can educate me on this, I'm happy to know more. But like, for now, this is his design of just like, itty bitty punk boy until I figure out if he should look differently due to childhood factors. I, at the very least, cut his hair down as a buzz cut though to emphasis the fact that he's still deep in the baseball stuff, even if he may not like it as much by this point. Maybe he's in the transitional period from his old baseball days to his canon design Sayaka: She's basically the same with some added little bits. Made her skirt pink this time for fun and gave her a matching pink bow too! The main extra thing is the friendship bracelet idea mentioned earlier with Makoto in which I gave her a green one to match Makoto's outfit and energy. Thought it'd be a nice touch! Again though. All designs are open for change!
Leon didn't get any say on his hair getting shaved and he's upset about it.
Junko and Mukuro time! Junko: It's Junko time! I went all out with the accessories cus, why not! She fit the best for this and that kidcore. Also, going back to Makoto's design, I planned it out and gave them both little band-aids. Thought it'd be an interesting connection between the two. The connection between hope and despair. I also tried to make her outfit a bit ill-fitting too. I dunno. She stole them or something! Or the fact that they don't fit her brings her despair???? I am grasping at straws. Also am now I'm imagining this little brat unrolling her sleaves and slapping people hard with them like a shirt whip. Mukuro: I gave Mukuro a few different designs because she is Mukuro and she is special. Jokes aside though, I felt it was warranted. One as Junkuro, one without the wig, and the last in her own clothes. The Junkuro outfit and one lacking the wig are self-explanatory with Mukuro dressed as her sister. Thus, I'll just go over the main design. I gave her a little army camo vest for fun. Got that bootcamp vibe to her. She also kept the skirt and school girl like attire cus she IS still a kid. Like a soldier in training. Also kept a wee bit of red in her design like a reference to her original design but also showing her connection to her sister with that red in there.
little lad rich boy
Celestia: Celeste's was honestly pretty easy to do. Gave her some more red accents for flair and kept a bit of that gothic lolita look. She's in the stage of her life where she started her gambling escapades and escaping her old life as well as her old name. Also, she liked Disney princesses semi in secret because I say so. Though, in actuality, it's because in original Celeste's dorm, she's got these sort of Disney princess perfume's or shampoos. Not sure what they are exactly. They are in her dorm though! Here's an image and the source!
Wonder who her favorite princess is... I wanna say Aurora from Sleeping Beauty but I legit have nothing to back this up. Or... hmmm... Maybe Tiana due to her hard work and determination? Gosh. I love how I'm speculating this stuff when I barely even care for Disney! Ha! Hifumi: Really wanted him to look like a nerd in a sense but not the overly annoying and super obnoxious kind. Just a good amount mostly while trying not to go overboard. Though, he's giving so much "erm, actually" energy but in an endearing way. Like, he's a bit mild mannered and shy with his biggest interesting being his art and writing but he's still a nerd. Aw! Now I'm imagining him drawing everyone little doodles cus he wants to finally make some friends! That's kinda wholesome! Also, I gave him little pins that are probably/definitely Princess Piggles related. He's also got some merch on him at all times in his bag too in case he loses a pin! The bag is not merch itself though. Maybe he's still a bit shy to show his interest in full? Toko: She's kinda how one would expect a middle schooler version of her to look. Pretty scrawny, baggy clothes that she fidgets with, a pretty shy looking demeaner. An anxious noodle of a girl. She's still distrusting as hell towards people. Also, acne! I felt it really fit for Toko in particular. Also I kept her hair the same cus I just felt it would be weird to tear it down quiet yet. I like her hair specifically being not braided in UDG's. Kinda symbolizes her change in a sense. Like, the wildness of it showing she's more free. But, back to the kiddie design, one other thing I did was keep the idea of a longer skirt. Feel it fits her best cus Toko's just insecure about herself like that so she hides with the baggier clothes. They also bring her comfort and hide her scars. Syo: Not sure if Syo has done any murdering at this stage but Syo is here! The scissors hide under the sweater! Also, unrelated, i am now imagining her specifically not with her iconic scissors quite yet ONLY because the idea of her running around with some safety scissors and threating people with them for fun while an anxiety riddled Taka is trying his best to salvage the situation. Like, how could I pass that up?! Beautiful! Yasuhiro: Basically gave him less hair, shorts, and a slightly different shirt. Gave him sandals still too. Nothing else to really say after this besides the fact that he is still pretty chill but also a dummy.
