I've been saying this! And any older Bengali I know has said the same thing, as genocide surivors.... what's happening in Gaza is not a normal genocide. It's way way worse than what we understand a genocide to be. It's something completely new.

We don't even have all the information yet. Like the reporters in Gaza are great, but they are being killed in record numbers and they report as they run for their lives. As horrific as what we see on our screens is, I think the vast majority of what is really going on will come out after all this is over.

Like for example I just saw this tweet:

.... a "little" bit of horror that won't even make the news. But how insane and dystopian is that..... people fleeing bombs, while injured, are getting hunted down by sniper drones. Imagine running, with your surviving family, with something like that chasing you. Then watching your loved ones get shot down by a machine, while the rest of your relatives are still under rubble. No one on earth has gone through anything like this before.

Also the level of bombing.... the mental effects of being homeless and under constant bombardment have to be insane. It's like if you extended the atomic bombs over several months. I would not be surprised if we see atomic bomb levels of cancer afterwards. How many survivors will just be killed by cancer in 10 years? After losing everything they own?

I saw one psychiatrist say that he expects a lot of people to be so traumatized by this that they won't be able to function at all after it is over.
