Kidomaru's chains symbolize pain, restraint, violence, and the kind of attachments that only ever harmed him.

Enmusubi's red threads, by contrast, symbolize love, support, healing, and the ties that bring people together. Where he sees relationships as shackles, she sees them as blessings.
