“Zombies can still exist without a head, we’ve seen it,” she reminded, watching the tiny end-of-the-worlder causing a ruckus in the middle of the square.
She took a large bite of the apple in her hand and chewed it thoughtfully. “I didn’t realize gnomes could be so loud, I think he’s got the attention of those guards.” She could see speartips floating over the crowd, the clink of armor filtering through the scattered laughter and conversation.
His sister made a valid point about the zombies. The headless ones still gave him the creeps and it had been over a year since they’d fought them. He gave a hum of agreement and continued to gnaw on the chicken bone he’d already picked clean.
“Do you think we should help?” He had no interest in helping, and they’d probably get nothing in return for their efforts. “it could be fun?” The guards seemed to have it handled, but Kaau could never resist the prospect of a fight, and it had been well over a week since the last one, he was starting to get bored.
