Ugh...PTSD is such a kill-joy. Like we'll be sitting there laughing and having a good time and someone'll say something that triggers it, and I'll ask them to stop and then they wanna know why and apparently saying 'it's a long story, just don't tell this story,' isn't enough and so then they think I'm joking and it's just like, we're having a good time do I really have to go through this just don't talk about it I asked you not too, don't push the issue

Well, the "slap Isabela " joke actually has a context since she says that in response to Hawke saying she isn't sure she can pull this off (as in calling Izzy names or even hitting her). Also its after the Arishok deal where I'm pretty sure everyone wanted to smack her upside the head. Varric says right after that Isabela kind of set herself up for that one, so he, at least, was kidding.

Yeah, I remember the context. It doesn’t really help me.

Given that Dragon Age 2 is a solid block of Your Companions Are Making Bad Decisions And You Can’t Stop Them, to single out Isabela as the only one with the “don’t you just wanna slap her” joke is pretty unfair.

If I had a Renegade Interrupt for that game my aggressive Hawke would be slapping people in Kirkwall right and left, and Isabela would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the list. (Sister Petrice would be at the top.)

(Actually she wouldn’t even be on that list, for me. If she’s in your party at all at this point, she brought the Tome back and risked her neck for you, and even my most aggro Hawke would not joke about slapping her. And especially not any Hawke who knows her history.)

I can see that it’s supposed to be humorous, but jokes about hitting women in general make me cringe. And then given that Isabela’s the only WOC, her supposed friends joking about wanting to hit her is especially Not Funny.

may lakad kami mamyang 8pm ng mga friends ko from college.. meeting place sa apartment ni Mayo then pupunta kami sa Big Bro's Bar and Grill. undecided pa ako kasi feeling ko hindi pa ganun ka-strong ang conviction ko sa pagtigil ko ng pag-inom ng alak. though, it's been a almost a year since i stopped it. 

sa tingin ko nman kaya kong tumanggi sa alak at sa pagpupumilit ng mga kaibigan ko pero sigurado akong mahihhirapan ako. kaya nga pinag-iisipan ko kung pupunta ba ako o hindi. haaay naku.. 

at baka kapag tinanggihan ko mga kaibigan ko sabihan nila ako ng "KJ" or kill-joy..

baka hindi nila maintindihan ang conviction ko. pero kung makapag-decide man ako na pumunta at humarap sa inuman ng mga kaibigan ko, eto na lang ang panghahawakan ko:
