Note: this was just sitting in my drafts and now I’m posting it. Oof. Sorry if this is lackluster

“What happened to your neck?”

You ask after glancing over to where he was standing and noticing something on your friends face. Kyojuro looks down slowly, following were your gaze landed and soon realized that he forgot to wash off the remaining blood from his neck and collarbone. For a moment, he thinks about the possibility of you finding out that he just came back from butchering someone and what he would have to do. Many thoughts came to mind but none sat right with him. He couldn’t imagine harming you but he was never the type to keep curious people around even if they were a love interest. Good thing you weren’t just a love interest.

“Oh..that..” He quickly gained his composure and let out a chuckle, one that would give off him being embarrassed but not too much to where it seemed forced. “Paint.” He replies, staring at the mirror just above your shoulder. “I was helping a neighbor of mine and must of gotten some on myself. I guess I was in such a hurry to meet you, I didn’t even notice.” He smiled, sending a chill down your spine.

“Ahh…I see..”

Your face falters for a moment in disbelief before changing the subject. You didn’t want him to know but you could tell he wasn’t acting like himself and swore for a second, that you saw a glimpse of panic in his eyes before he snapped out of his concentrated gaze and became the person he usually was around you and everyone else. It was as though you saw a totally different side of him you didn’t know whether or not to indulge or gaslight yourself. You must have been staring for a while because you didn’t even notice that he was inches away from your ear, closing the once distance you both had between each other making you flinch. His voice drops, tone sounding a bit unfamiliar. A bit darker than previously.

“What else would it be, y/n? Blood?” He asks.

Even though there was a smile on his face, his eyes were as dark and threatening as ever. It’s as if he was warning you with out verbally saying it and you most definitely got the hint. You just force a laugh and lightly slap his shoulder, telling him how crazy he was and that you were just curious and then proceeded to turn and walk towards a desk nearby. He bought your act and then started proceeding like his “usual self” But how the hell could you NOT be frightened especially seeing as you know for a fact that due to your occupation that paint doesn’t look or spread like that?
