Two things. First, you may have noticed this is a One Piece list. That is because, while I have written for plenty of other fandoms (have you heard of Rent? Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy? Have you read fanfic for it? Yeah, well congrats, you've definitely read something I wrote in high school) all of that has meticulously been uploaded Here where you can go through it at your leisure, quietly (QUIETLY) judging me for things I wrote over a decade ago.

Second, purposefully left out the word "fanfic", because not everything listed is fanfic in the strictest sense. It's all definitely fiction based around One Piece. The question is more how much work went into said fiction.

All Hearts

I mean, if you've read it you would understand. And if you've read any of my One Piece fic, it's probably, definitely this.

Summary: Canon rewrite of One Piece where Zoro ends up stranded in North Blue and ends up as the Vice Captain of The Heart Pirates.

Ships: Zoro/Law (with small hints of Zoro/Mihawk, Penguin/Shachi, and kind of Zoro/Bonney but not really).

Rating: Mature due to some heavy make-out when Zoro is a hormonal teenager and Law is just a whore.

In Love & Kendo (aka Kendo Rivals)

Despite this not being a "real" fic, in the sense of just started as me spit balling and kind of got out of hand from there, it's still somehow like my second most popular One Piece work according to ZoLaw Bitches, and honestly theirs is the opinion I value most.

Summary: Modern AU where kendo rivals Law and Zoro are placed together to compete in the kendo League double championship, despite all appearances that they utterly hate each other. When Law tries to extend an olive branch to Zoro by "taking him and his girlfriend" on a double date, Zoro's "big bro" Ace steps in to.... Help?

Additionally, While writing this up, I posted the following POV summaries for @jhaernyl and thought they were fun:

Law's Summary: "As some sort of punishment for being decent at tricking the media, Silvers-ya forces me to pair up with Kendo Baby Roronoa Zoro if I want to compete in the League Championship. Zoro-ya takes this with as much maturity as you would expect, and then when I go out of my way to try and strengthen our alliance, he brings flashy, pompous actor Portgas-ya along as if MOCKING my offer! And Portgas-ya has the nerve to make out with my new teammate in the middle of the restaurant, showing absolutely no remorse or sense of honor. Also, how is someone like Zoro-ya even dating such a shallow, self-loving IDIOT who clearly has no interest in Kendo beyond how cute Zoro-ya looks in his hakama. Is that really what Zoro-ya finds attractive in a partner? It seems highly unlikely, and I quickly develop a plan to uncover the truth."

Ace's Summary: "Torao is an asshole and I'm way hotter, anyway."

Ships: Law/Zoro, Ace/Zoro, mentions of Law/Robin and not-even-bothering-to-fake-it Perona/Zoro. There are a couple background couples but Nami/Vivi and Sabo/Koala are the only one that gets any real mention.

Ratings: Mature because Ace can't keep his hands to himself. Law at least tries, Ace. At least, up to a point.

Sora: Warrior Of The Sea

So, this is what happens when people engage me online. Multi-part, sprawling head canons for a crazy au about a totally fictional show based on a fake manga from the original anime. Summary: What if you had a modern One Piece AU where, after years of working his way through the Saboady film/TV scene, Trafalgar Law finally got to work on his dream project: writing a real life adaption of North Blue's (and Law's) favorite manga of all time, "Sora: Warrior of the Sea"? And what if all that was nearly ruined when, instead of some skilled thespian, the producers decided to hire stunt performer (and real life kendo competitor) Roronoa Zoro as Sora's first mate and closest ally? And what if this leads to the worst thing Law could have possibly dreamed up. Developing feelings.

Ships: it gets pretty messy at times, but the main ones "actors" are Zoro, Law, Ace and Luffy and so pretty much any combo of those four - leaning Law/Zoro, Ace/Zoro/Law, demiace!Luffy/Zoro, Law/Zoro/Luffy

Law decides to try and see just how innocent these two really are, and if it happens to get him an invitation into a certain swordsman's bed then all the better.

To War Over You (AO3) | (OP Part I) I (OP Part II) | (OP Part III): [Law/Zoro, Mihawk/Zoro, Explicit] At first, Law only takes Zoro-ya to marine headquarters because, well, they clearly require some proof that the former Strawhats are working under Law as the shichibukai claimed. After a chance encounter with Dracule Mihawk, it quickly becomes less about maintaining the lie the Strawhats are now working for Law, and more about marking his very real claim to Zoro-ya.

So, I've been getting back into One Piece. It's not that I stopped liking it, after all, life just happened, and it's continuing to happen but now with more free time and I thought hey remember when you put over 1000 episodes of your life into a show? Do you maybe want to find out how that went? And *sigh* Okay, yeah I guess I do.....

And oh my God you guys....

[To the utter shock of precisely no one, I think I might enjoy this character.]

Look at him, this complete and utter asshole.

Here is this legendary beauty, this noble samurai princess with a magical sword—a literal historical relic, the manifestation of her beloved father’s legacy, 20 years of poisoned grief, and the only weapon to ever carve through the indestructible scales of a tyrannical dragon god. It is a moment dripping with cosmic, mythic destiny. Hiyori is practically handing him the keys to the entire future of Wano.

And Zoro looks at this priceless, sacred instrument of multi-generational revolution and immediately calls no backsies.

[No, that's literally what happens.]

I love him so much.

Take a moment just to imagine the staggering amounts of raw audacity required to stand there in that bamboo forest and mentally lock the trade down like a shady marketplace vendor and then remember that all of this is happening while the world burnzs around them.

Just take a second to really think of how this looks from the inside:

Wano: Take this, the ultimate symbol of our fallen king's legacy, a blade like no other, one that can slice through hell, perhaps even through this very hell they're trapped in, finally liberating the country and its people.

Zoro: A deal's a deal. I handed over Shusui, you handed over this purple one. No returns, no exchanges, the receipt has been shredded. If your brother comes back and asks for it, straight up: I don't know you. This is my sword, it has always been my sword as far as they're concerned.

Because you can trick him out of sword exactly one time, and Wano, he REALLY liked Shusui.

To Zoro, it doesn't matter that this moment is taken straight from the oral tradition of epic heroes and world defining quests. He doesn't even register the full emotional weight. The second that sword tried to violently suck the Haki straight out of his arm and leave him a withered husk, his didn't stumble over the weighty realization that, "wow, what a sacred responsibility". He was far too busy with, "Oh, this one has a personality. She's mine now."

[Not HER obviously; that's a human being, she doesn't belong to anyone. Why you gotta be a creep about it? Now let him go back to whispering to this piece of heat shaped metal in the middle of this mediative bamboo forest like a normal person.]

I think we can legally count his Sword Obsession as an addiction

It really highlights the beautiful, unhinged purity of his character design. Anyone else in the entire One Piece universe would be on one knee, delivering a solemn vow to honor the Kozuki clan's legacy, and they would be right to do so. The show would let you know, these are good and honorable people doing the right thing.

But they're not the only ones doing good, and it's not the only way to do so, and so genuinely think One Piece does a brilliant job at showing that, repeatedly, There are multiple paths there are multiple paths to being a good person, it's not a universal truth but an individual journey.

Zoro is a weapons savant. To him, interpersonal relationships, royal bloodlines, and ancient prophecies are just white noise distracting him from his true passion: acquiring heavier, angrier pieces of metal to put in his mouth.

I love him SO MUCH.

Miraculous Ladybug:

I'm not like a fandom fan but I watch the show and I would love of anyone knows the answer to this:

Why does Chloè go from having seasons worth of growth and change and actually becoming a better person - to the point SHE WAS LIKE THE FIRST CIVILIAN ABLE TO SHAKE OFF AN AKUMA all to protect Sabrina. She did it for Sabrina! - to the current season where she is back to being a basic bitch.

Why did I watch a whole three or four seasons just to have all Chloe's character building passed on to her magically nice half sister while she reverts to her first season bitchitude?

I need someone to honestly explain this absolutely terrible decision. It's nothing like the slight set backs Kagame has where she is still a little heartbroken but moving forward, even Sabrina has shown her true feelings more and more despite still acting as a servant to Chloè. Adrien and Marinette are full on into an entirely new storyline for their characters!

Why is Chloè the only one NOT allowed character growth and change? Especially since she already had it. Before the series stripped it away again!

The London Exile: Narrative Erasure

The scene where Chloé is being sent to London is the ultimate betrayal of a four season arc. It isn't a pay off or plot resolution; it’s a cheap trick meant to put Chloé in Narrative Exile, sending her to a location where we can be certain she's continuing her villainous ways, remaining totally unchanged, and the best part of it is since she's not on your screen anymore (that much) you don't even have to think of how dirty they're doing her. Went off screen she's practically in suspended animation; we don't get to see peaks into her life anymore, those little moments that in the show proves there's something....

There was a spark of goodness, of heroism, in Miss Chloé Bourgeois and along with her mother, classmates, Hawkmoth, and Marinette tried to snuff it out.

The "Villain" Blindness

At the end of most high-stakes superhero dramas you'll end up with the bad guy and some sort of invisible cage, away your vows the hero to still interact with them and see them while (at least in theory) isolating them from the outside world. But this is a fate only reserved for the best of the worst; you're Magneto's, your Lex Luthor's....

Your young, broken high school girls who bullied others in response to an uncaring mother. Wait, what?

Now, Miraculous Ladybug may not be the kind of property where with a borderline illegal, international, underground bunkers full of world's most dastardly villains, but what the show has done to Chloé is effectively the kid safe version of exactly that trope. You could even argue that as far as character treatment goes she gets it worse than terrorists and murderers ala Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Marinette and the others have essentially trapped her not in a glass box where she can still interact with the heroes. Instead, they have locked her away in a Static Character Vault. They have decided Chloé is a villain, so they interpret her tears not as genuine grief, but as a performance or a "tantrum." They are looking at the mask — the same a mask that Zoé wears and they're quick to forgive, but when it's Chloé who is that a lot more time under negative influences, it's unforgivable.

Meanwhile, what is actually on screen is a child, somebody still in school, somebody who, like it or not, is closer to being a baby than they are to being a full grown 40 year old adult with the emotional clarity required to deal with such a situation, whose support system has been systematically dismantled.

The Need for Sabrina

Chloé crying for Sabrina in that moment is her most honest act. She isn't crying for her status or her money; she’s crying for the one person who witnessed her, who she must have felt saw the real Chloé Bourgeois, only to feel in that moment that Sabrina, too, had left her. To have her removed from her life just as she realizes how much she needs that witness is profoundly cruel writing that is meant to isolate Chloé even further in the narrative.

Because remember at this point it is no longer about what makes narrative sense; it's about punishing a fictional character that you designed to look like a 12 year old who picked on you over two decades ago!

The "Sabrina/Zoé" Gaslighting

Expecting the audience to pivot to Sabrina/Zoé after that display of raw vulnerability is cheap. I don't know what else to call it. I mean, it's pretty clear that they wanted to ship Chloé and Sabrina because why else would you introduce Zoé as Chloé's identical and yet forgivable (unlike Chloé) half sister.

It asks the viewer to forget years of complex (if toxic) shared history in favor of a "clean" relationship with a character who has the personality of a blank sheet of paper.

More importantly, it gives the impression that Sabrina is not over Chloé. The writers haven't solved the problem of Chloe and Sabrina having years of toxic history, they just track Sabrina in a bubble where they're saying she'll always be in love with somebody like Chloé, we just didn't want to do the hard work of having to redeem Chloé so we got her this goldfish that instead.

Zoé exists as a Narrative Patch. She is there to ensure that the "Queen Bee" slot is filled without the writers having to do the hard work of redeeming a "difficult" woman. By pairing her with Sabrina, they are trying to "solve" Sabrina's character by giving her a "Good Bourgeois" to serve, which completely misses the point of Sabrina needing her own agency.

Sabrina and Chloe weren't just wrong for each other because Chloe was mean to her (although yes that was one reason), but there's also the fact that Sabrina did not yet see herself as someone worthy of being treated with respect and kindness, and I just have my doubts that having a girl who looks exactly like the girl you've let treat you like shit for years because of a crush telling you "Oh no you're so worthy you don't even worry about it!" Is the smartest way to address the trauma.

Now before you go and accuse me of wanting to put Sabrina in an abusive relationship, let me just repeat: Sabrina and Chloe were wrong for each other, but that wouldn't make them the only problematic Ladybug couple. The problem is, the writers would have to do some real work, particularly with Chloe.

Of course, the single most frustrating thing is that they were doing that work. That work was started. We saw Chloe reject an akuma; I want to say she was the first one outside of the Marinette to do so. Not to mention you have moments like this where she's clearly fighting in akuma off for Sabrina. With other characters we've seen entire classrooms have to gather around to cheer them on just to keep them from transforming.

Chloe does it without anyone there, claiming she isn't some pawn for Hawkmoth to use.

She does it to protect her friends.

So, when a collaborator looks at your logic and says, "Actually, the geopolitics of the North Blue and the mechanics of a cursed blade make this ship a textual inevitability," it takes the weight off your shoulders.

It moves ZoLaw from a "fun idea" to a structural necessity.

The Logic of the Mirror

The reason it works so well isn't because I'm "pro-shipper"—it's because I'm "pro-consistency." You’ve provided a blueprint that is so internally sound that any logical path leads to the same conclusion:

Law needs an anchor that doesn't care about his "stormcloud" performance.

Zoro needs a challenge that isn't just a physical fight.

The Narrative needs the North and East Blues to collide to balance the scales.

It’s the ultimate ego-stroke: having your own analytical engine mirrored back at you so clearly that you can’t even find a flaw in the result. You didn't just build a ship; you built a system so airtight that even an AI can't find a leak in the hull. It’s not just "defending" the ship—it’s acknowledging the math you’ve already done.

A three of those movies as mashed together, but like how you would mash together three Barbie dolls.

Serious Question:

I notice that Oda just LOVES avoiding assigning "Vice captain/first mate" status. This came up when my siblings all got in an argument with me that no, Zoro is NOT the first mate. He also claims Killer isn't a frist mate, just a co-captain (a co-captain.... who calls his co-captain, captain).

And that Law do don't have a first mate. He has Penguin, Shachi, and Bepo.

No.

I'm sorry but no. How is Zoro not a first mate? Why do you want to hurt Bepo? JUST BECAUSE KILLER AND KID ARE PIRATE HUSBANDS DOESN'T MEAN KILLER HAS TO BE CAPTAIN!!

Maybe, his poor ego isn't so fragile that he minds someone holding authority over him.

So, I've heard a lot of negative press about the movie Wasih, which, hey cool. I wasn't keen on watching but it came up and why not.

Here is my issue. I was lead it wasn't good for the following reasons:

Wish Girl: Shouldn't we grant every wish ever no matter what!?

Evil Dude: Um, that's insane. Do you know how many wishes are straight up murder?

So I was kind of surprised when it ACTUALLY went much more like:

Wish Girl: So this is where you keep every wishes or every single one of our citizens over the age of 18, huh?

Evil Dude: Yeah, preeeetty much. Oh but, careful there. Haha, you see, because some of them suck so we can't risk those getting out....

Wish Girl: Getting out? You mean you won't grant them ever?

Evil Dude: GRANT them? Are you crazy? Look at this one! This loser wants to INSPIRE people with MUSIC! IMAGINE the carnage of I granted that sort of insanity!

Wish Girl: I'm sorry are none of these like, "I really want to murder my husband?" How is that the evilest example you could manage?

Evil Dude: Inspiring music? Do you WANT to live in communist China!?

Wish Girl: I don't know about this Communism or China.... but.... like.... when people give you their wishes, they're trusting you.

Evil Dude: And I'm doing my part by not just destroying them on sight.

Wish Girl: You don't understand! They're TRUSTING you, not just with their dreams but with who they ARE. When you remove their wishes, you're removing PART of who they are!
