CS headcanon

So the drive from NYC to approximately the center of Maine, if that's where SB is located (considering it's not a complete frozen tundra I am lead to believe it's more central/southern Maine for an official location). I know they shoot in Richmond but whatevs. Here's my headcanon...

The drive from NYC to Central Maine is about 7.5 hours. Which means 7.5 hours of Hook watching Emma drive home. Henry would certainly be talkative some of the time, playing his video game or occupied with an ipod. It wouldn't leave much room for the two to talk freely.  However, it would give Hook ample amount of time to listen to Henry and Emma interact and watch her be this person he's become so enamored with. You learn a lot about a person when you roadtrip with them. I think Hook took this time to study Emma and Henry. Also I would love to see Hook's reaction to the radio or when they stop to get food at a gas station while filling up (VW bugs have okay gas efficiency but come on an almost 8 hour drive? No way they didn't stop at least once). 

Hook would have taken it as a blessing when Henry fell asleep because he could at least talk a little more freely then. Emma would shush him so as not to wake Henry, but I think she would ask if there's anything he could tell her about what she's walking into, which he doesn't know a thing other than there's a curse, yada, yada. She would begin to show her suspicion about his year away from her and how he got the memory potion but she would steel herself for the task at hand. 

Just imagine the struggle it was for him to be there, in her presence inches apart not very different than Sunday's episode and not lay out everything on the table. He's trying to be respectful and gently guide her toward where he wants them to go but he still does it with such restraint and respect to her autonomy that it's rather endearing.
