Okay I started reading 'Killing Stalking' yesterday and Now I'm like .... Wtf ? But I can't stop.....
ch 65
the chapter was much longer than the chapters we were given for the last couple of weeks. What I’ve loved about Koogi’s drawing style the most is how good she is in drawing anatomy and facial expressions. And this chapter is no exception, the way she drew the facial expressions - especially bum’s look when Sangwoo was going to kill him and the shot when Sangwoo was going to kill Seungbae and it was all red were amazing.
First off, I’m really surprised that bum had the balls to say no in the first place. Guess the return of Sangwoo’s abusiveness (which we got no explanation for koogi, I’m still waiting) really made bum realise that Sangwoo doesn’t care for bum as much as bum thought he did. And that made bum say no. If Sangwoo had treated bum as well as he did in the previous chapter, bum might’ve killed Seungbae because he was so in love with Sangwoo. Seungbae an absolute idiot, but it makes sense since he went in with a death wish. He wanted to die. I guess he thought that if he was going to die he might as well die trying to take down Sangwoo.
Sangwoo wasn’t exactly smart during this chapter. He was already very emotionally unstable(as seen when he was killing Chief Kwak). Now don’t get me wrong, Sangwoo isn’t normal or emotionally stable in anyway but he does have a sense of calmness when he usually does his killing. But in recent chapters, he has been emotionally unstable, probably triggered due to bum. He didn’t realise that each time he mentioned Chief Kwak in front of Seungbae, he actually ended up giving strength to Seungbae, because every time he wanted to give up, when Seungbae heard the mention of Chief Kwak he got a sudden burst of anger. Especially since Sangwoo mentioned Chief Kwak is such a demeaning way, that just ended up giving Seungbae the last push he needed during moments when he lost his strength(was pushed to the floor twice but he managed to get up because of this).
Sangwoo was also too cocky and really had this feeling that he would never get caught, much less killed. Bum’s in a state of shock, so he’s not in any position to help Seungbae. I’ve seen a lot of people say that Bum is going to run back in to help Sangwoo, but I really think he’s too shocked to do anything. Plus he’s not going to want to save Sangwoo, since Sangwoo was going to kill bum. All this time he thought Sangwoo loved him, and that he would never kill him. Now that he’s seen that Sangwoo has no trouble in killing him, it’s actually got registered in his mind, and we can see the look of pure fear in his face in that panel that Sangwoo is going to bring the knife down on him.
My prediction is that Seungbae is going to bleed out, Sangwoo is going to die and bum will be alive, however, more broken that he originally was. I’m disappointed that Sangwoo’s sudden change in behavior and his sudden abusiveness from ch 63 was not explained. It couldn’t have happened all of a sudden. Something should have triggered it.
Also, I think that Sangwoo dying is a good ending because Sangwoo’s really not the type to go to jail. He’d rather die than go to jail. I would have enjoyed seeing Bum and Sangwoo do a double suicide. Or bum betraying Sangwoo is a more dramatic way - like working with the police secretly, or playing him, something along those lines. Maybe even Bum killing Sangwoo with his own hands would have been nice. And something that focused more on the emotional aspect of it would have been great. I know that Sangwoo mentions he regrets not killing bum in the beginning, but on the aspect, I was really expecting something more emotional. Like I was expecting something like Sangwoo being confused and breaking down but still killing bum anyways? And regretting it completely afterwards? Maybe suicide after realising what he did. Or how about him having illusions and being unable to differentiate between bum and his mum as the days pass by, and then one day he kills bum thinking it’s his mum, and only later realises he kills bum? These endings would pack more punch for an ending.
I did feel that the ending was anti-climatic. I felt killing stalking really reached its peak during the second season, and seeing Sangwoo’s character development throughout the series has been very interesting.
