Combine that with Duro’s dislike of boats, and if the four bros ever went on vacation together overseas, Mahdi and Nasir would be like, “Oh, you guys are taking a plane? Cool, cool... we’re going to take a train and a boat and meet you in a few days.”

Or Agron and Duro would have to drug their boyfriends to sleep through the whole ordeal. XD

Mahdi tried to sit up again.  “I cannot.  If I stay here then Nasir will know that something is wrong and will then tell Agron who will tell Duro and all three will either worry themselves sick about me – or try and go find the guys that jumped me.” He fell back, the pain in his side and the dizziness in his head causing him to make small sounds of pain. “I do not want to cause them any additional trouble.”

He knew that it was highly unlikely that he could hide this from his beloved and his family for very long.

Nat sighed and rubbed his forehead, sometimes he wondered why people bothered calling him if they didn’t actually want help. “You know they will find out eventually and what do you think will make the least worried, getting a call from me knowing you’re ok and that I’ve treated you and are looking after you until you can go home or that you say nothing and they find out by taking one look at you?” He knew all three of them would drag Mahdi to a hospital, which none of them would like and Mahdi would also be watched like a hawk. It would bring happiness to no one. “And can you please stop getting up, I think you have a concussion.”

The fight had been a bad one, and Duro wound up beaten unconscious. “Aren’t the referees supposed to step in before something like this happens?!” he’d raged, as they loaded Duro into the ambulance. He climbed in after the stretcher, furiously calling Agron, but it kept going to voicemail. “Answer your fucking phone!” he shouted at his own, which earned him a scolding from one of the medics. He curled a hand around Duro’s limp one and lowered his voice. “Duro, you better wake up, or Agron will go to jail for murder.” It wasn’t really a joke. Duro didn’t hear it anyway. Nasir called Mahdi and attempted to explain to his brother as calmly as he could what had happened. “Breathe. Get to the hospital in one piece, okay? I don’t need you both admitted.” 

Hours turned into days, and days into weeks. Agron was indeed seething with rage, ready to kill Duro’s opponent in his last match. Nasir was tempted to drug Mahdi--lightly--to calm him down. They all took shifts at the hospital, and Nasir and Agron kept reminding Duro what an idiot he was. MMA was a dangerous sport, they all knew, but bruises and broken bones were one thing. This was a fucking coma. And when Duro finally woke three weeks later, it felt like a fucking miracle.

For a few minutes, at least. Until it became obvious Duro didn’t recognize any of them. “Do I look like the fucking nurse?” he said, grinning and gesturing at his colorful clothing and paint under his fingernails when Duro asked if he was, in fact, the nurse. His grin slid off quickly once he realized it wasn’t a joke. It was an entirely different waiting game that Agron, Nasir and Mahdi had to begin then, talking to Duro, trying to spark some memory, not knowing if they ever would. Nasir slumped in the hospital chair one night and propped his feet on Duro’s bed. “Do you remember when we got trapped in Agron’s attic that one time? It was so fucking hot, you were practically naked by the time Agron got home.” Gaze was tired as he looked over to Duro. There was still no recognition in his eyes.

Oh so many. Nasir has good friends/adopted family in all his verses that bring him so much joy, but I think I’m supposed to pick one person for this meme, so I am going to say Duro (as written by @provemyselfalone, since Duro and Nasir never meet in canon). They are entirely too much alike in a lot of ways (but different enough that there’s balance), and both a bit on the crazy side, especially in modern and non-canon verses. Nasir often wonders how modern Duro out-weirds him sometimes. Nasir has adopted Duro as his “little” brother, in spite of Duro being older and much larger, and sometimes they fight like brothers too, but they love each other, and occasionally show love via tormenting. ;)

Nasir has no canon family by blood, except he says he remembers a brother. Welp, @agonymasked took my tiny bit of headcanon for why Nasir and his brother got separated when they were little, and built this amazing, complex, fully realized OC from my scraps, and me and Nasir are so happy and honored to have Mahdi in our lives. I’ve discovered Nasir is overprotective as fuck, and will fight fucking anyone for his little brother. Nobody messes with Mahdi but Nasir, as long as he can help it. Everyone should go follow and love Mahdi. Like now.
