this is my killjoysona, Nuclear Fairy (19, they/them).

they’re a second-generation killjoy - they were born in the Zones (as a result of their mother attending a very raunchy disco run by show pony, but that’s not important) and they grew up with their mom and her polyamorous bf and gf.

they come from zone 6, the most radioactive zone, and the mutations from the radiation caused them to be born with a third eye, which can detect radio waves. at age 10 they disappeared for a week, and when they came back they said they’d spent a fun time with the Phoenix Witch at the nuclear explosion epicenter (going there is supposed to kill you, if you venture there from the Zones you’re supposed to never return) and said that the Witch had turned them into a fairy. nobody took it seriously, of course, but afterwards their killjoy name came evidently.

it became clear when they grew up that their signal-detecting eye could help them and their gang evade the SCARECROW units up to 30 minutes before they arrive. the radio eye also made them priceless to Doctor Death Defying, who used them as a sort of “megaphone” to broadcast important news to zone 6, where the radio signal is usually terrible. this led to the nicknames Mx Megaphone and Radio Renegade (they considered changing their killjoy name to one of these, but decided not to).
