i need marine people for my universe so in order to not freak myself out with scary demon sirens i am creating a KIND CREATURE.

can rufio go on land since he breathes air? maybe he can flop about on the beach like seals do

He can indeed go on land! But he has to be mindful of his beluga half. Beluga whales aren't meant to live out of water for too long, like any whale. He does not have a fully human form either, tragically. The most human he gets to be is half. But, he doesn't mind it! He likes the water. That doesn't mean he's never wondered what it'd be like to be a typical land dweller, of course. >:)

I will not lie I could not imagine him flopping about, but technically... I guess he could do that...........

He is unfortunately an obligated air breather like an actual beluga whale... HOWEVER, that also means he can hold his breath for as long as they can. >:)

I'm blaming you for a dream I had about someone having a miniature beluga whale as a pet that was about the size of a cat that could be held in their arms and now I can't stop picturing Rufio that small or even as a child.

what if rufio had a friend who is a narwhal mer. belugas and narwhals are closely related and are known to even hang out together

i mean he is half human so maybe he can stay longer, plus he has arms to help him move. i imagine he's quite curious of the land and likes to bask in the sun

HALF OF HIM WOULD BE OKAY! Half of him would be drying out and having a bad time.. so he tends to stick in the water by choice. It's just far more comfortable for him! Drying out beluga skin = uncomfy for the mans...

YOU ARE DEFINIETLY RIGHT THOUGH, he's very curious and will also do a half-out-of-water moment and rest his torso where he can catch some sunlight on his back! REALLY so long as there's some water, he is ok... this means he is willing to go into shallow beach waters! >:)

Maybe he's gotta do like a That Spongebob Episode With Patchy The Pirate moment and have a small kiddie pool to vibe in.
