Kallua's birth (Srry if this is a bit long💀)
Have this after disappearing for a while. I want to write more of my boy but a lot has been going on, nothing bad dw. This is not fully canon of my original story as the Zoldycks didn't even know Kallua was born. But I hope you like my silly little story :3 Be nice or I'll be removing nasty comments
Every character minus Kallua is an adult in this story
August 5th, 2009. It was a warm morning in the late summer in Whale Island. Gon was the first to awaken in his and Killua’s bedroom. Gon turned his head to the empty wooden cot across the room. Gon smiled and quietly stepped out of bed and their bedroom. Gon walked into soon to be Kallua’s nursery, which was once his childhood bedroom. He still couldn’t believe sometimes this is once his room growing up and where he and Killua spend time and slept as kids. Gon couldn’t believe he was about to raise his own family in that same house with his first friend ever that he brought over. Aunt Mito so generously gave Gon and Killua that house as their first home when they married and bought a house close by so she can stay close with them.
Gon walked downstairs where two empty suitcases, several filled duffel bags, and a stroller were laid out in the living room. Gon slipped on his boots and opened the front door and closed it behind him and walked towards the hill and looked at the view. He closed his eyes and smelled the clear air and gazed at the sunrise above the horizon filled the sky with a warm glow. The vibrant colors of orange and pink felt serene. One more day, and Gon and Killua would supposably become parents. Their surrogate is now at the third trimester and her last appointment with her doctor was on August 3rd, her doctor told her she was ready to deliver on the due date, August 6th.
Killua organized an airship to fly her and her parents in and out. Gon and Killua have met her parents, and they were going to help her after Kallua’s birth. Killua organized another airship to fly them home when the surrogate recovered. Gon and Killua did not want her going on a boat long distance, especially given the weather conditions. Today, she, her parents, and the OB/GYN who would be there for the delivery were expected to arrive in the late morning. Killua also took care of all the hospital arraignments as well as an Airbnb for their surrogate and her family to stay in. Gon felt so grateful for Killua doing all of this because it was such a complicated process. Gon and Killua wanted their son to be born in Whale Island so they wouldn’t draw themselves to unwanted attention and possible danger.
The airship was expected to arrive late morning, and Gon and Killua were so excited but also terrified. The feeling of becoming parents felt so unreal to them and they didn’t know what to expect. Alluka sailed to Whale Island a few days before to help for the first few weeks and Mito who prepared so much food. They felt so grateful for them and couldn’t wait for them to be part of Kallua’s life. Gon discussed to Ging over the phone when he will visit Kallua, and surprisingly Ging said he would come visit right away if Gon and Killua were ready. So, after discussing with Killua, Gon said yes. August 7th was the day Ging would arrive to Whale Island.
Killua came outside surprising Gon and Killua teased Gon about looking for the airship. Gon and Killua talked about their feelings of becoming parents and reminiscing the last day without children. Afterwords, Killua offered to make coffee and Gon made breakfast for the busy day ahead.
Following breakfast and cleanup, Killua and Gon gathered the documents and identification they would need for the hospital, packed their bags, and gathered the last few things they would need. From the moment they found out the surrogate was pregnant, they recorded their journey for their own personal memories and for Kallua to see one day. They captured themselves celebrating and drinking at a restaurant, Gon getting tipsy the day their surrogate told them she was pregnant, telling Aunt Mito, Alluka, and their friends, learning Kallua's gender alone through a message from their surrogate containing her doctor's document revealing his gender, and their adventures at the state where their surrogate lived when they visited her.
Killua’s family at first weren’t happy, because they felt Gon and Killua were too young to become parents, and they were right. But it wasn’t their decision, and Gon and Killua knew in their hearts and financially they were ready. They wouldn’t give up becoming hunters, but they would take two years off before working again part time. Over the months, the Zoldycks warmed up and became more excited as each month passed. Kikyo ecstatic on becoming a grandmother, went overboard with shopping buying so many clothes some even custom made, blankets, and toys. Killua exasperated numerous times they didn’t need all of these, but he gave up trying to convince her, secretly planning on donating half of her gifts. Kikyo would also call Killua sometimes asking about the baby and surrogate. Killua wasn’t afraid of his family as he was growing up and made his point very strongly that if they tried anything funny with his son and family, he would kill them without hesitation and erase their existence from them.
The plan for the Zoldycks, was to meet Kallua a few weeks after he was born since Ging was coming first and Gon and Killua would have to adjust the first weeks being parents.
At 11am, while organizing Gon and Killua each received a message from the surrogate that they arrived in Whale Island at the given location. Gon and Killua came to meet and brought the family to their Airbnb in town, and all had a meal together with Mito and Alluka joining as well. In the evening, they all went back to their homes. Gon and Killua discussed with Mito and Alluka that when they arrive in the hospital they would call when they were checked in and when Kallua was born. Killua called his father that night to share that same information and to relay to the family. Killua sighed after hanging up, and he and Gon got ready to go to sleep because they had to wake up at 5:55 am because they were scheduled to check in the hospital at 7:30 and leave the house by 7. Mito told Gon and Killua yesterday that she would say goodbye to them before they went to the hospital. Gon told Killua he was going to visit Konta and his family one last time before he wouldn’t be able to visit him for a while.
Gon walked into the forest around where Konta lived. He called him by blowing his fingers and within minutes he heard large footsteps hit the grass and smiled to see Konta, his son, and his cubs who were fully grown. Gon greeted them and explained why he was out now at night calling them.
“This is it. You see, I’m going to become a father tomorrow! I won’t be able to visit you all for a while, I know you understand that because you two went through that. When Kallua turns a few months, I’ll introduce him to you guys. You will have another best friend to play with! And you two,” Gon said looking down at the cubs. “Hopefully you guys will get along, you’ll be growing up together. I have to go back home now, tomorrow is the big day. Bye!!” Gon said cheerfully walking back to the house waving at them who waved back smiling. (I’m referencing the 90s foxbears they will always look more cuter don’t come after me)
Killua had trouble sleeping, he couldn’t stop thinking about tomorrow not knowing what to expect. On August 6th, 6am, Gon grabbed his video camera. He recorded outside their home and walked to the bathroom where Killua was brushing his teeth and had a towel wrapped around his head, strands out hair sticking out. Trying not to laugh, Gon sneaked next to him and started talking to the camera. Killua got embarrassed but started talking about the night and they expressed how excited they were and ready to see their boy. They recorded and took pictures of them walking out of the house with their bags.
Gon texted Mito to let her know they’re about to leave. Several minutes later, Mito walked up the hill. Gon walked over to her, and her eyes were glistening.
Mito pulled Gon to an embrace pulling him close and Gon wrapped his arms around her.
“I’m so proud of you two. I love you both so much.” Mito said trying to contain herself.
Both Gon and Killua’s eyes began to water, and Killua came and hugged them as well.
“And we love you so much too.” Killua said. Mito exchanged a hug with Killua and the couple told her they would call her when they get into the hospital.
Gon and Killua arrived at the hospital where they met the surrogate and got checked in. Gon and Killua, the surrogate, and her parents all went into their room and the surrogate started getting ready for delivery. Killua took out a lot of candy from one of his bags and Gon asked why he packed so much. Killua simply explained to prevent passing out during the delivery.
The surrogate started going into labour during the day and was having true contractions close to midnight. Gon and Killua were there during the contractions but got changed into scrubs when the doctor told them she was close to giving birth.
Mito and Alluka were at Mito’s waiting together. They grew worried when it got late in the night, wondering if something went wrong or even worse.
At the Zoldyck mansion, Kikyo was pacing back and forth panicking out loud, practically screaming and crying to her husband who did his best to reassure her even their sons getting involved. The brothers weren’t assuming the worst yet but were staying very alert for updates.
Gon and Killua recorded themselves in their scrubs and walking into the delivery room. They sat across the bed next to their surrogate to support her and both started crying and shaking when they heard Kallua’s cries. At 11:41 pm, August 6th, 2009. Killua was the first to realize that he was blue and was panicking inside questioning to himself why is he blue. When the nurse started rubbing Kallua’s skin changing pale, Killua never felt more revealed.
After Kallua was cleaned and examined, he was brought to Gon and Killua and Gon was the first to hold him, Killua right next to them both still crying. The surrogate was overjoyed for them but was so tired from the drugs and struggled to stay awake, wanting to witness the moments she helped make possible.
Killua got his turn, and they both promised to love and protect Kallua forever. Gon joked to Kallua that it was a lot of stress getting here but it was worth it. After holding, feeding, and doing skin to skin, Gon, Killua, and Kallua were moved to their room and Gon called Mito where she panicked asking if Kallua was alive taking Gon by surprise but told her he’s doing well and alive. Mito and Alluka both started crying of relief and happiness and were invited to visit him. Gon made a call to Ging and Ging smiled saying that’s wonderful and eager to see him. After hanging up, Ging smiled staring at the stary sky outside the ship.
Killua called his father and gave the news. They were all very happy and Kikyo began wailing eventually weeping in her husband’s embrace. Illumi already felt a connection with him despite them being in different countries.
A lot of photos and videos were already being taken of Kallua and when people came to visit him.
Mito and Alluka visited Kallua at midnight on August 7th. Alluka was chosen to be Kallua’s godmother months after finding out the surrogate was pregnant. As she held Kallua for the first time and stroked his cheeks, she promised to herself to love and protect this child and was looking forward to spending time and playing with him. Ging’s boat arrived in the morning, residents in Whale Island looked shocked wondering why Ging was here. Ging and Mito did end up seeing each other because Mito went back to the hospital that day.
Ging felt very happy and prideful even when he finally saw Kallua and held him. He gave Gon and Killua a box filled of clues to find him one day if he chose to be a hunter. Gon and Killua were over it knowing Ging wouldn’t change and took it
While taking care of Kallua, Gon and Killua continued to check on their surrogate and did whatever they could to help her.
On August 8th, Gon, Killua, the surrogate, and Kallua were all discharged and went back to their respected homes. Gon pushed Kallua in the stroller while Killua insisted on carrying every bag they took. When they arrived at the house, they gave a tour of the house to their son and Killua recorded it.
In the beginning of September, the Zoldycks were finally allowed to visit Kallua. Their private airship was loaded with gifts. Kalluto made a checkered quilt, each square with a different design.
Killua felt so nervous and stressed, this was a huge transition and felt overwhelmed by the sudden attention especially being a favourite in the family. He worried about Kallua’s well-being, and even about struggling to manage his own needs and the needs of other family members. But with Gon’s support, he felt more at ease and confident. Mito had also planned on being there and Alluka had already sailed back to her hometown to return working.
Killua and Gon were flabbergasted with the number of gifts the Zoldycks arrived with. Killua went to get Kallua, who was in the nursery, after they all had settled in and caught up. All eyes were fixed on the baby's blue and white dog-patterned wrap when Killua returned to the living room, causing the room to fall silent.
Silva was the first to hold him, members of the family came to see closer. A sense of pride came to Silva seeing Kallua and reminded him of Killua when he was that small. Kikyo held him next and did her best to contain herself from crying out loud, not wanting to scare him. Illumi held him next and actually smiled, a genuine smile. He stroked Kallua’s cheek and memories flashed when his siblings were babies. He promised to himself to watch over and protect Kallua even if it meant sacrificing his own life. Illumi felt devastated having to give Kallua to Milluki who feared suffocating him with his arms. The Zoldycks all got to hold Kallua and Illumi was very happy when he got to hold Kallua again.
Gon and Killua were happy it turned out successful.
Around this time, the surrogate returned to her country and slowly started her life together and started school again a year later. Gon and Killua and the surrogate would contact each other about Kallua but after a few months, they stopped talking as much going on with their lives. Kallua would end up reuniting with his mother when he was fourteen during a mission.
Kallua never calls his mother “Mom” and she preferably wants that because she knows she wasn’t a present mother.
This mission made Kallua and his mother catch up and Kallua needed documents from her workplace as she is now a crime investigator. They would end up working together on the mission and she was very impressed with Kallua’s intellect and martial art skills. He reminded her so much of his fathers and even herself from the knowledge of different crimes, some ways he would investigate, and being a crime hunter. When their mission was over, Kallua’s mother wished him well and would always be there for anything if he needed. She also told Kallua to say “Hello” to Gon and Killua and wish them well as well.
