11. My muse confesses their love for yours and then kisses them

Krad was trying to steady his breathing, terrified that the dead in the next room would hear him. Crammed in small closet with the other man he was beginning to worry they may not get out of this alive. He hoped the rest of their group was not far away, that they’d find them…but what if they didn’t. He swallowed casting a nervous glance up at Vitali; if he was going to die he had some things to get off his chest.

“Vitali…” He whispered, unsure whether he was more afraid of the possible loss of his life or actually discussing his feelings with his friend. “If we are going to die, there are some things I need to tell you, my friend…” The younger man faltered as throat suddenly felt tight, happy that the closet was dark enough that hopefully Vitali couldn’t see how red his face had gotten. “You have always been my friend but I fear…” He faltered again; finally he threw caution to the wind. Words weren’t working, he’d have to use actions.

Leaning in quickly, he brushed his lips against the other man’s and prayed that if he reacted badly, he’d do it quiet enough to not draw attention to their hiding place.

“Is that so?” He chimed, raising a brow and smiling at the other man. “The world going to hell and you still find time to try and charm me. I am a lucky man.” The younger man laughed, his cheeks tinging pink.

Krad turned scarlet looking over his shoulder sheepishly at the window behind him and grinned back at his companion. “If it breaks and we fall and survive, I will kill you.” He teased in their mother tongue, reaching one hand up grip at the collar of Vitali’s jacket. “We will have to be quiet.” Krad laughed mischievously.

Krad stiffened a bit in surprise, but once he recognized his intruder he relaxed. Yawning and rolling over to face the other, the Russian muttered a sleepy good morning in their mother tongue.

When Vitali goes into the city to look for stuff he’ll stop by clothing stores to snag outfits he thinks Arvo would like. Skirts, pastel shirts, ectra. And he comes back late ‘cause he spent all day cleaning them.
