AWOOGA TALL LADY
100% smug to a fault, and absolutely must be the biggest flirt in the room at all times
Auchenstarry Marina.
First wee outing of the year, caught a bus to Croy and a walk along the Forth & Clyde Canal, this is my pick of the phone pics, the mist lying just above the valley looked great, hopefully my camera picked up some good pics too.

Misty Forth & Clyde Canal.
Auchinstarry Marina.
Scotland is traditionally viewed as a land of mountains and glens and while the uplands to the north and south of the central belt are to be admired, there is much more to its countryside, especially in the central belt, which is much overlooked,
My day out took me to Auchinstarry near Kilsyth, and The Forth & Clyde Canal, the only part of which I had explored before was around Falkirk.
Here, there are many moorings next to a hostelry which claims to be the first “eco-hotel, restaurant and pub” in Scotland. I never sampled it today, but will return on a summers day perhaps to enjoy a wee drink in the beer garden here as I watch the boats go past.
It is a lot more modern than its 18th century origins, but the presence of horses in neighbouring fields is a throw back to the days when the animals were stabled nearby, to be used to provide a passenger service along the canal.Indeed my destination today was Lambhill Stables to the north of Glasgow, as well as being home to the canal, this is also part of The Antonine Wall. which cuts through Central Scotland from Boness in the east to Old Kilpatrick in the west , I hope to make my way along the western section during the year ahead.
