Kim to babe: Respects him from day 1, cares for his safety and is worried when he's hurt, plays detective to find out who hurt Babe and even confronts the people responsible for hurting Babe, tells babe the truth the second he finds out, encourages babe to be the best he can be at everything

Way to babe: has an unhealthy obsession with him, has lied to him for a DECADE, constantly puts his own opinions onto babe and doesn't let babe have his own opinions, TELLS BABE BAD NEWS BEFORE A RACE TO DISTRACT HIM FROM DRIVING, manipulates his every word and action, tried to sa him, plays the victim.

i don't think i could ship babe and kim themselves, but the idea of competing race car drivers (one of which is in his current team specifically bc he wants to race against the other! and ideally win!) is a 10/10 honestly

Kim's calm assuredness and assertiveness is the most attractive thing in the world to me, especially because we know he's more than capable of losing his temper.

He gives Charlie one glance so Babe knows where to look, and then he doesn't take his eyes off Babe again. So he's immediate to react when Babe tries to get up, firmly holding him in place. When Babe doesn't resist, Kim pats him on the shoulder, Kim loosens his grip and pats him on the shoulder, as if to tell him it's okay. And then Babe gives Kim this tiny, terrified, vulnerable look - because that's Charlie.

When Kim tells Babe to calm down, his tone isn't imploring or pleading, panicked or aggressive. It's low and calm, and it works instantly on Babe, bringing him back down when this moment must feel like a nightmare for him.

Kim is such a grounding presence and it makes me crazy and if I don't get to see him dom someone I will die a miserable death

I love the contrast between the way Winner responds to Babe being off his game and the way Kim responds to it.

Winner is all hot air, immediately jumping at the chance to feel superior, even if he still lost to Babe.

But Kim is direct and to the point. He’s not happy about Babe being off his game—he’s disappointed. He wants Babe to do his best, he wants that challenge.

He’s not inflammatory with his words, nor aggressive with his body language, even though Babe is still looking for a fight. Kim is calmly assertive—he leaves his hands on his hips, letting his body take up space, and he doesn’t back down an inch. He doesn’t trash talk Babe, he simply lets Babe know what he wants.

Kim has the assured confidence of someone who knows himself and knows what he’s capable of. This is true confidence, not false bravado.

Winner is all bark and no bite, and Kim is… well I sure would love for him to bite anyone at this point.

I love Kim and Babe’s rivalry though, I love that Kim immediately goes to bat for Babe, and I need to see where their relationship has gone in S2, especially as teammates. Way always held himself back when racing with Babe—he saw himself as simply being there to clear a path for Babe, even when he could have won himself. But Kim won’t let Babe win by default, and I hope they both push each other to new levels 🥺
