from "Citizen" by KIMBERLY ALIDIO
in love with these poems from kimberlyalidio’s solitude being alien
reading the chapbook is like being enmeshed in a spiderweb
the poems seduce you into a game of hide & seek, darting between lucidity & vague hints
but the fog feels purposeful so you keep seeking
<3
the way is approximate, forced connections of copper ears and cannon eye
gold panning left hand was left and leapt, left on the ground, a severed ex-friend
the ugly untended plows neat rows, soft-elbows a hunt, maker my making
a pickle touch darkening continents, blackened damp, wisdoms a fortune
You won't want to miss Kimberly Aldio's new blog post: "I’m (not) surprised: social media and the desire path"
"On the heartbreak of (not) being surprised about the Trayvon Martin verdict, social media, and the poetics of wondering/wandering. "

Ride the elevators where they work,
See how the bus boy is treated,
Go into the basement of the post office and live
That world for a time, visit their rooms, you see.
