Genuine question, why can’t we say “kin” anymore? Like “that’s my favorite character I kin them so much” used as a synonym for “relate to.” Or can we?

I’ve seen the term change a lot the past few years compared to in 2021 when I first started seeing the term and using it. Can someone explain why it’s different now? Is it now related to therianthropy or alterhumanity?

More writing I'm so scared to post this but I wanna get better so.. I like writing human rocky but maybe if I get better at describing stuff I'll write rock rocky but also I have a human body so

Rocky, being alone for so long missed sleeping with people. His crew. His family. He tried, the first few nights to sleep alone but he couldn't. There was this deep fear that something was going to happen to grace that made him toss and turn. This was a feeling he still couldn't get used to even after being in a human body for quite some time. Often he'd end up curled up in a ball on the floor next to Grace's bed. He's been stepped on a few times already.

Grace, feeling bad offered to let rocky sleep with them and rocky happily took the offer. Snuggling as close as possible to grace, arms wrapped around her tightly and his face buried in his neck he lets out a content sigh. "Grace warm, Rocky likes." He mutters inter her skin, his finger playing with the fabric of Grace's shirt. "You're warm too buddy" grace chuckles, holding him close to their chest. Grace too, missed physical touch, years of being alone made him quite touch starved and he could tell rocky was the same. He kinda felt bad for him, how alone rocky must've been all those years. But nevermind... She had him and he had them and nothing else really mattered. "Goodnight rock." Grace yawned, nuzzling their face in rocky's hair. "Goodnight... Grace"
