s3 s4 and the great mid will never really exist to me, but I do like to mess around with what they could have been, and I find it really funny that literally everyone and their mother in this fandom has their own rewrite for the show just because of those seasons and the webtoon
I can't speak for everyone, but a lot of people I know who are still in the fandom have their own AUs and personal interpretations. Not getting mentally upset over it is basically one form of copium. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Personally, I'm still here because of the OCs, and because I really love the old Ankama vibe like the grounded artists and their creative vision. Back then, the story was probably written by more than one person rather than being shaped by a single writer with a very specific set of political and moral views. Ahem.
