Prologue was just talking with you, but now he's still, fingers curled into the collar of your shirt. You can't get out of his grip. "Sunny?" You try, hands around his wrist as you try to shake him off.
He's looking somewhere else; you make eye contact with Epilogue, who looks terrified. You have never seen him look like that. You furrow your brows, tense and unsure. You turn your head and look in the direction where Prologue looks. He's staring at a wall.
You flick your eyes back to him, and you jolt in place. His faceplate is inches from your face; his grin is wide, too wide. Both eyes are empty. You think you hear something whisper, but it's not them. You open your mouth, but nothing comes out.
"Cold. It's so cold. Dark. Blood. Eating. Eating. Eating. Death." It sounds like it's coming from behind you. The voice is unsure of what it's saying, but it's raspy, whispery and yet so hungry-sounding. With a sharp tug, you manage to get free.
You look at Prologue, who stands back up and then softens his smile. He's back again, with a kind eye and everything. Epilogue is much the same. "Starlight, you okay?" Prologue asks you, voice soft and worried.
Epilogue mimics the expression.
What just happened? Did that happen? Was that real? God, you're tired.
