Have you been hearing on the recent Kindly Beast reports of it being a bad work place and Mike Mood being an actual real life Joey Drew? If so how do you feel about all this?
I’m kind of waiting for more info or an official statement before I say anything.
I will say this though: I don’t care for Tumblr’s cancel culture where if the author does something wrong you have to stop liking their work (exceptions being if the author’s shitty views are reflected in said work). What you want to do is not give them any money, which is incredibly easy with the internet nowadays. Writing fanfiction or fanart or whatever doesn’t somehow increase their revenue.
And even then, I don’t really think a boycott would be good idea because it seems to only be Mike who’s being shitty - there are a ton of regular employees, VAs, external contacts etc. who would be hurt by a boycott, which is kind of like having a rotten apple in a barrel of good ones and throwing them all out. It would be better to voice disapproval on Twitter, or to threaten to boycott unless changes are made to pressure Meatly to split from him.
