Oooh! I don't know if there's, like, one specific comment, but the absolutely lovely, welcoming deluge of comments I got after writing my very first SC fic are absolutely what encouraged me to stick around and do... *waves vaguely in the direction of my fic count*

11. Who is your favorite character(s) to write about and why?

David. Daaaaaaaviiiiiiiiiiiiid. Listen, am I or am I not a pansexual hot mess with an outrageous fashion sense who hides deep-seated insecurity and anxiety behind a prickly sarcastic veneer? Exactly.

But also y'all know how much I love my minor characters. Someone once told me I'm the Emperor of Jake Feelings and I will take that epithet with me wherever I go.

Oh no it's a sad one sorry.

“David, baby!” Someone — David’s not even sure whether it’s the person who was demanding entry in the first place — grabs his face and shoves their tongue into his mouth. He’s still sleep-addled, and he doesn’t even react to the aggressive making out; he’s certainly not an active participant in it, but that doesn’t seem to matter. Around them, the other visitors make themselves at home: turning on the stereo and cranking up the volume far too loud for the middle of the night, dragging David’s bar cart into the middle of the living room and grabbing bottles of liquor for themselves.

caite! miss you friend i hope you’ve been well! my favorite ice cream is actually chocolate chip cookie dough as like a catch-all, safe bet, go-to, but in reality I love anything with fruit and chocolate bits like a cherry garcia or chunky monkey from ben & jerry’s. basically, i am indecisive as hell but those are my favorites lmao.

Yes! From the Time Traveler's Wife AU:

"Just because we were destined to be together doesn't mean that free choice isn't involved." Alexis skims her fingertips over Twyla's hand, then up her wrist and forearm. "I didn't have to keep meeting you on the dates on the list, and I didn't have to apply to NYU just because you said to. You didn't have to actually show up to our first date, you know? But we did all of those things because we wanted to be here, together, now. Our choices still mattered, do matter. We choose each other every single day."

Twyla swallows hard, laughing a little so she doesn't cry. Her mind's on when she just was, how worried she'd been about their future, how impossible it'd seemed for them to get here. She wishes she could tell her younger self about all of this, maybe next time she ends up in her past, but maybe half the fun of love is in the discovery of it.

How would you describe David and Patrick's cottage? It's for research. (By research I mean I've finally started a mood board) ;)

Cozy and extremely tastefully decorated. Based on the exterior it doesn’t look like it gets a ton of natural light, but I’m sure David has found ways to compensate for that. Lots of little personal touches and framed photos. A big, beautiful kitchen that’s a little more modern-looking than the rest of the house.

I’m getting sleepy and having trouble coming up with more details but I KNOW Sam has some thoughts on this. @brighter-than-sunshine

6. What’s the last thing you read that made you laugh? Assuming you mean fic and not random posts on Tumblr, it was actually this Whumptober chapter for the Merlin fandom. It features Court Sorcerer!Merlin doing what we all wish we could: spelling Arthur silent when he tries to argue. And then Gwaine too for making it into an innuendo.

17. Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage. Ok so I’ve been kicking this idea around for months, but I’d like to write a slight canon divergence that takes place directly after the events of The Barbecue. David, god love him, ends up going to see a therapist to cope with his depressive episode, and ends up unpacking a lot of trauma about his past relationships. It is just me SHAMELESSLY projecting onto David, but it has a happy ending where he works things out with Patrick :)

19. What’s your favorite character headcanon?  Aromantic Stevie Budd. Not mutually exclusive with her being a lesbian :)
