Happy Father’s Day (June 15th, 2025)
Elena & Raul in Flower of Light
What is hard...is not seeing you again, but knowing you have no idea about what will happen to you...
Just a silly angsty sketch of an idea I got of some evil Time bending creature that sends Elena into the past where her parents were at her age. It pains her to know they have no idea what will happen, and more that she can't change the past without altering her present

Come to think of it... we never DO see what Raul and Lucia's Carnaval float looked like... right?

29 for Isa and Raul
I suppose Isa is a little younger here than at the beginning of the show, somewhere 6-7.
Raul turned on his side and opened one eye. For a moment he wondered why the sight of empty bedsheets bothered him that much, until he remembered Lucia was away for the weekend. He sighed and closed his eyes again. Well, at least he can finally sleep in...
"Papá!" A loud shout broke his dream state.
Raul sprung up, immediately wide awake. He frantically looked around until he noticed his youngest standing at the foot of his bed. He sighed a little in relief seeing she's fine and nothing is on fire.
"What's the matter Isabelita?" He asked flopping back onto his pillows.
"I'm bored."
Raul didn't answer. He looked at his daughter, then at the clock on his bed table and back at his daughter.
"You're bored," he said slowly. "At six am on a Saturday."
Isa nodded fiercely.
"Yes, because Saturdays are boring!" Hearing no response from her father she added: "Mamá always plays with me on Saturday mornings..."
"Mamá comes back in two days," Raul mumbled trying to fall back asleep. "Can't you play with Elena for now?"
"Elena's asleep," Isa scoffed.
As I'd like to be, Raul thought to himself but out loud he said only "Alright mijita, c'mere."
Isa squealed happily and quickly crawled into his bed. Once she emerged from under the covers Raul embraced her with his arm, and she snuggled into his chest.
"And now," he whispered. "We're going back to sleep."
"Noooo!" Isa yelled dramatically and they both burst into laughter.
But Raul did not let her go.
No one can escape the dad hug - and especially not the sleepy dad hug.
Thank you for the ask nonnie!
Prompt list
Two quick headcanons about Raul’s childhood
He was a very accident prone child. He was always getting hurt. He broke many bones. Plus he was the type of the person to act first and think later.(Elena inherited this trait) When Lucia broke her wrist, Juan (Esteban’s father) made jokes about Raul being hurt one not Lucia. Even as an adult he got hurt very often. Like pulled muscles, twisted his ankles, banged his limbs etc.
Raul had a horrible relationship with his father King Josue. They didn’t see eye to eye. Josue was a traditional man, while Raul wasn’t. Josue didn’t think very highly of commoners, Raul closest friends were commoners the Flores sisters and Juan (who was the lowest of the low being an orphan). Josue believe children should be seen not heard. Raul often ran away to Viva Dulce to get away from his father. When Raul became a father tried his best not to be his father. Dropping everything for his daughters.
First time drawing Raul, he hasn’t slept in days due to his infant daughter
